Win this and we can rest everyone for the last game guaranteed top spot.

That’s huge with our fixture list.

Strongest possible side

I'm going to the game with my father in law and eldest - he's 11.
I really cannot wait to see how he takes it all in - will probably remind me of the first, and only, game my dad took me too (Guillt's return to Milan, 1-0 vs Genoa in 93/94 I think).
I warn all you guys though - I've been to two European ties - and we've conceded 3 in each one (3-1 Sevilla, 3-0 Barcelona) ... so I'm sorry in advance.

Your father in law is your eldest? And 11? How did that work out?

Imperative that we win this one. Could make our "load management" as they say in the US a lot easier. We could basically play the reserves against Salzburg in the last fixture.

Exactly and give our young/fringe players a good competitive game before the Villa q/f

A week off with our fixture list would be gold dust.

Reports have emerged that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has issued fines totalling over €2.5million (£2.14million) to his first team squad following an internal mutiny.

Napoli is in shambles at the moment and we need to take full advantage of it. A win for the reds coming up.

I've already mentioned how important it is to beat Napoli in order for us to get a meaningless last game in the group against Salzburg.
Problem is, the last game could potentially decide if Napoli go through to the play-offs or not. According to UEFA rules we're not allowed to play a "weakened" team.

Duties of the clubs 3.01
On entering the competition, participating clubs agree:

Barca can complain then. It seem clear that Gini was a stronger card than Milner in that game!

They always seem to play well against us regardless (or us badly against them).

Seem to recall the last time (or couple times) they were supposedly on a horrendous run of games and we still struggled big time.

Hopefully it turns out to be an easy game but more likely we'll still need to be at our best.

Subjective and meaningless. UEFA ask for a 25 man squad, we wouldnt get done for taking it easy in the last game. I'm pretty sure the front three would fail late fitness tests anyway

How do you define a weakened team if it included Ox, Origi, Milner, Adrian, Kieta, Gomez etc...

We've seen plenty of weaker teams fielded and fuck all happens. Let's just deal with this first. Napoli can be annoyingly effective against us.

Matip is still out.

[article]Joel Matip remains unavailable as Liverpool await a fresh assessment of the defender's knee injury, Jürgen Klopp has explained.

The centre-back has not featured for the Reds since the draw with Manchester United on October 20 and cannot presently train.

A further scan on the issue is scheduled to take place this week.

“This week we have kind of a reassessment scan where you have a look at how it improved, but there’s nothing you can really do a lot, you have to wait until the body is doing the job pretty much.

“And we will see that, then we’ll know more.

“He looks fine but is not able to play and not able to train at the moment.”

Well, Origi, Keita and Ox have hardly been first team regulars, and neither Milner nor Gomez are currently first-choice, so it's hardly the sort of team we'd pick against Man City is it?

I'm sure no one really cares, other than bitter small minded English managers..

You have a squad of 25 to rotate, and if you have qualified for the next round you are entitled to rest players.

Anyway, you can hardly argue if we're going to play the Barca Slayer up front can you?

Yeah I agree with above posts that we probably won't get punished. Just stating the fact that there is a rule and Napoli could potentially make a complaint.
