Matip is also culpable in the goal. His body shape is all wrong it’s like he’s trying to usher him inside.
I'm sure a couple of posters criticised his quality, but that happens with most signings of similar pedigree. Most were concerned that we were spunking £40m on another attacker when we clearly need a keeper and a few other defensive players. I'm sure the loss of Coutinho though midway through the season, without an obvious immediate replacement, makes that now look like some kind of genius thinking.
Karius has been shite btw, and no Mignolet isn't the answer nor a considerable improvement, but he's quite plainly better than Karius, he's a better shot stopper for starters. I don't think I've seen Karius make a decent save in the time he's been here, which says it all really about his quality. #
And Gomez repeatedly making the same mistake, getting caught napping and under the ball is starting to get really irritating. He's either not having it worked out of him or he's a bit thick. Either way, it's becoming a concern, but then that's our defensive quality all over.
