Anyone got any team news guys?

All week on Twitter 'This Is Anfield' have been running a campaign calling today 'flag day'. They are encouranging every supporter to Bring any old scarf or flag in honour of Kenny being back. It's always nice to know when we say flag day we don't mean there will be a shitty plastic flag on your seat when you get there and you will be told when and how to gave sad flag. Sounds like the atmosphere is going to be good today. I'd love to be going.

The atmosphere will be exceptional at the start, I just hope it continues into the game & the players reciprocate the adulation with some passion.

The team news hasnt been forthcoming. I wouldnt be surprised if it either dries up completely or is constantly misinformation now. Kenny's son is active on many forums so no doubt they know it gets leaked, I assume they're dealing with that.

As a reminder how small time our neighbours across the park are:

Could this crap not have went in another thread? Then we could of started the "official match thread" with a match, or at least some team news.

It's called build-up Foxwold. Banter. Chat. If you're worried that you're too stupid, boring, dull or slow, and can't keep up, feel free to come back closer to kick-off.

Or not.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but this is pretty much the format of every match thread we've had on the site.

I hate the idea of set rules, so that we'd have one buildup thread, & then immediately the team news comes in, we'd start another thread, & put the team news in that, then go back to the buildup thread, & talk about the team, then jump back to the match thread at kick off. Then at half time of course, we'd have to go back to the other thread for 15 minutes. Yeah, sounds great.

Jeez, Foxwold posts fuck all for ages and pops up to have a go.
Mach threads, win or lose, are one of the best things about SCM.

Foxwold doesn't post much, thankfully, but when he does, he is comfortably one of the shittest posters on the site.

Can we start this one again - just so it is actually about the game.

Cool beans.

I fear a Liverpool side lacking Gerrard & Carragher for the derby is going to lack enough fighting spirit to get the win today. Distin has been playing well, Jag has played Torres very well in recent times too. Gonna be a tight game.

Or we couls just start talking about the game now.

I'll show you.

So, with Cahill out, does that simply 'even out' the fact that Stevie is missing, or does it tip the balance in our favour?

When I look at their midfield vs ours I worry we're simply gonna be steamrollered in the centre. Am I panicking too much here?

They will be stronger in CD and CM today. It's not panic, it's realistc.

Nah, was just chatting shit.

It'll be 4-1-4-1, as long as Poulsen doesn't play i don't care to much what the team is.

yeah, that's what i was thinking.

Taking the 'Kenny/crowd factor' out of the equation, we should suffer a defeat really, or possibly a draw.

However derby's are all about spirit & passion, so we could do these given enough of one or the other.

This is what I talk about, a proper OFFICIAL match thread.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY REDS, OUR SEASON STARTS TODAY!

Passion heart and abilty will be there today.

So the only question is what team Kenny picks and ultimately if it turns out to be the right one.

I hope so.

I agree 100% FFF, but it's the first time in 9 years (since 2002) we'll play Everton without Gerrard & Carragher. That's a huge chunk of our fighting spirit right there.

And luck.

We showed spirit and passion against United, but conceded a goal in the first minute and had our best player sent off after half an hour. We need Everton to get that kind of shit luck today.

Can't say I'm not worried though. Ming in particular, whether he's still slightly injured or not, cannot afford to go missing in the centre the way he did against Blackpool, or we'll be carved apart.

We need good games from Torres and Reina, some guts, and some good luck, because defeat here would leave us staring down the barrel.
