My impression was that Henderson was going to take it, Sturridge and Balotelli both wanted it, but Balotelli acted first. I actually thought Henderson looked a bit weak / undermined there - it seemed to me he actually went to talk to Balotelli at least twice to change his mind; in one of these instances, he seemed to look back at Rodgers to get his approval and then tried to tell Balotelli that it was the manager's decision.
That Henderson walked away and just gave a half-hearted tap and then Balotelli had to pull him in and give him a collar / hug seems to suggest Henderson was just as pissed as Sturridge was with Balotelli. All ended well but definitely something needs sorting out in the dressing room.
Anyone notice though that Can was calling the guys to join in and celebrate with Balotelli?

Basically backed hendo and called him mischievous for taking the penalty..

Studge wasn't trying to take the penalty. He was telling Mario that it was Henderson's job. He was in a strop because Mario was being a dick.

Hendo allowed Balo to take the ball off of him without a word said. What the rest was about after that I simply can't fathom. Your best penalty taker on the pitch, which would be Balo, should be taking the penalty ..end of.
Balotelli should have been first in line with Stevie off the pitch. I don't have anything like the same confidence in Henderson in that position, and it seems Henderson doesn't either.
What was tragic is Stevie commending Hendo's reaction to it during the interview and then going into undermine him with his own commentary.
