It's possibly the most embarrassing thing this site has ever witnessed
That's a bold statement.

I dunno about that.

I thought laptops were being made without keyboards, so I feel guilty using mine to laugh at Ryan.

I'm really happy Aqualani has had this oportunity. He won't play on Sunday but fuck it, at least he got a chance.
My thought exactly.

Aquilani has not just done the forward thinking things well, but he has for the first time shown a willingness to tackle, hassle and press the opposition. He has won the ball back all night long and shown what he can bring this team.

Im so fucking chuffed for him. Maybe just maybe hes showing that his career in Liverpool could be longer than Robbie Keanes.

I'm pretty certain DB and marky would have a good few offerings in that particular contest.

Ryan O'Tomkins:

"Honestly like. Do people actually put any thought whatsoever into the team they write down here? Why not just go the whole hog and drop Carra and replace him with Pacheco.

How the fuck would the above team work? How? Seriously fucking how".

Great performance so far, though Portsmouth are there for the taking, it's good to see us actually taking what's on offer.

Torres has been immense, Babel has linked up well with him too and it was a cool finish for his goal. Babel, Maxi and Aquilani have made a MASSIVE difference, and Johnson too actually. Maxi is having his best game for us yet.

Pretty much everyone on this site has made a cock out of themselves at some point, but this goes in the top ten fo sho.

Same here, I'm chuffed for Aquaman.

Not really surprised with the performance after I saw the team sheet.

But I'm also expecting Lucas and Kuyt to return against Man U. Scary but that's Rafa.

To be fair it IS only Pompey, who already look down. We've played a similar side in other games and done shite. And lets not underestimate the difference a fully fit Torres makes to a side.

We need to keep our shape.
Indeed. And Lucas is a good player.

I actually agreed with Ryan at the time, but I hardly feel bad about being wrong now, and I'm guessing he won't either, because he's not a cunt, and he'll be happy to see some attractive football. I think I said something like "how likely is it we are going to chuck those players on and all of a sudden start playing fast tempo attacking football with intricate passing and players rotating from wide to central positions in a display that will confuse the opposition and bring joy to our fans". But that's exactly what we've done.

And before anyone says don't get carried away, why not? We've all been getting carried away with doom mongering, staring into the abyss, so why not?

There are enough signs by the way, with this formation, that we'd have difficulties, were we not playing Portsmouth, however it's exactly the sort of game we've failed to win.

At any rate, I'm overjoyed, honestly overjoyed just to watch something that is really worth watching.

By any chance, is he making you think that maybe just maybe he could do something if his mind can stay 'stable' & he actually gives his all every game? That's 3 solid games on the trot now - he should really be starting against Lille too.

It IS only Pompey, and still O'Tomkins decided to ridicule the 100% accurate team selection by cliaming that even against ONLY Pompey, that the team could not possibly work.

Half-time: 3-0

This, I'm afraid to say, marks the official death of the O'Tomkins Chalkboard. Which I never actually read anyway.

Aquilani has got to start.

Babel too.

And Maxi.

................................REINA...............................

JOHNSON..........CARRA......AGGER...........INSUA

.....................MASHER.........GERRARD...............

MAXI..........................AQUILANI..............BABEL

................................TORRES............................

Gerrard and Aqui can swap around a bit. That's probably our most balanced team at the moment. Pace and hardwork combined with good passing skills and players who can beat their marker."

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

hahahahhahahaha 🙂 ryan has no fucking clue!! about time rafa started a decent team, this is the first time in for as long as i remember that i have nothing bad to say about rafa's team selection 🙂

Weird first half. I'd honestly forgotten what it was like to enjoy watching football.

I think our players had forgotten what it was like to enjoy playing it too.

Maxi has been excellent. Kuyt's got a battle on his hands methinks.
