The knives are really out today!

They are but the lack of perspective is astounding.
The team has been struck down by H1N1 it seems in the last few days and add existing injuries to the mix and these players were not available : Gerrard, Johnson, Aurelio, Riera, Skrtel, Agger, Aquilani, Kelly, N'Gog, there are 4 arguably five or six 1st teamers there and the rest would more than likely make the bench so really .......
WTF were people expecting ? A walk-over against a team that hasn't lost at home for 2 months ? It was never going to be easy but we dominated the 1st half. It was the 2nd where it all fell apart.
I want to know why Torres came off (existing injury ?) and Yossi (fuck knows) ? Otherwise not much to complain about as far as the team selection was concerned. The undeserved red card for Degen was the real turning point.

I couldn't agree more. The number of injuries and potential flu cases would cause many problems for any team, so you just have to deal with it as best as you can. I believe Torres is still not 100% fit, so was bound to be taken off at some point. If you're not 100% you don't keep someone on, as more than likely you could make these injuries worse. Trust me, I know what can happen having worked in sports rehabilitation, you have to look at the bigger and long term picture. As for Yossi, I'm unsure whyhe was taken off. I'm sure rafa will explain.
Very annoying day. The league looks very difficult from here, but we've got to move on and hope we can beat Lyon in midweek.
