Liverpool v Everton Match Thread

Yeah seriously. Do you not think we could have performed better with coutinho and firmino? Of course it's on klopp, what's daft about that? We've got arguably the best front four in the league, and he dropped two of them to the bench. Ridiculous decision and it did cost us, I'm not sure what your point is.

You'r one of the criebabies ranting about how we faded away in January. And now we try to balance the squad to meet the tough program ahead you keep crying. Bohoo. Klopp put out a team limiting Everton to 100 completed passes, appr 1 per minute, and you put it down on Klopp. You don' deserve Klopp mate.

I admit that this is the most angry I've felt after a match for ages, but it's because it was so obvious we could have won it and it was a microcosm of all of Klopp's failings. From the transfer market in the summer to the defenders he picks now to the people he thinks he can rotate, his substitutions, and to do it in a derby when we are on fire. It's maddening. Frustrating. Ridiculous.

Oh come on. You can rotate the squad, but key games? Try again. Cry baby me arse.

What the fuck does it matter how many passes they completed? They came with a gameplan and to get a point. They executed it perfectly. Klopp's selection made it easier for them to execute said plan.

Because we might have been up by more than one goal if he hadn't rested two key players for a massive game by the time he took Salah off. Or by the time Lovren had his obligatory brainfart.

We were winning and should have been 2-0 up had one of our main players passed. I don't know why Klopp is getting so much stick. It wasn't like Everton were all over us- we conceded because of a dickhead giving the ref a decision to make.

Mourinho said four years ago that some managers come to Anfield looking for draws and give us the ball because they know, at some point, we'll fuck up and they'll get a chance, so they might get a win. We know who he means. Him, Pulis and Sam. So it's total naivety.

He took Salah off and put on Firmino. Hardly a defensive sub or a shit sub.

I'm doing one of my inside rages. A stupid joke. We'll probably best West Brom, and Klopp will feel vindicated. See also: Chelsea, and then Stoke.

Mane lost us the game, no doubt about it. Fuck Lovren messing around. It was never a peno, but he asked the ref who blew for *every* fucking bit of contact, to give a penalty. If we scored with Mane that was game over, 2-0 at halftime and we'd probably score more.

I'd say blame Klopp but only for the subs... Mane was done early one but he takes Salah off. Mane off for Coutinho and it'd look proper different. Klopp's shortcoming is in his inability to make a decent sub. He's shit with them, and it keeps costing us.

Same as against Chelsea. Wait until we concede and be like oh yeah, bring one of our best players on, woops.

We'll likely edge top 4 still, but we'll lose Coutinho and Can, and bring in Keita. Two steps forward, one step back every fucking season.

Gah.

If we beat WBA and Bournemouth though, he can grin like a bastard again, fine. We've all got short memories. If not, he's a cunt who thinks he's smarter than Guardiola. He might be, but he's not as rich.

Still fuming more at Mane though.

Fuck this game now. It's dead to me. i watched it once with no highlights. If I see it again I'll want Henderson, Mane and Lovren dead. I'm gonna watch Blue Planet and rub some butter into my helmet and get the dogs to lick it off

Fucking hell, spoken like a true modernist, every game is a final. It's great to think that way, but back here, away from lala land.. cry baby? Better that than a fantasist.

Fantasist... haha. Sure. We played well, but didn't win. We can't change it, but we can build on it....

That wasn’t a derby. Did you see the state of the blue shite. No thunderous tackles or anything. They don’t give a shit.

It was a good chance to go third today - but alas - it is not to be. But looking at the situation more objectively the difference between us and the others in position 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is so little this season that I don't expect any consistency from any of them. Man City are in a league of their own after today because the most defensive coach in the league could not contain them at their own ground today. We should not be too hard on the team today - my view is that the penalty was a penalty from the Ref's viewpoint which was replayed on TV. He would have been in trouble if he had not have given that decision.

On our part we need to learn some lessons from City - I have watched them suffer the situation we suffered in the previous two games where they have won them 2-1. In each case they faced a wall of defenders like we did but their players were not rash in their decision making - they made space for their teammates to score and it worked - we need to learn to do that better. As for Mane not making that pass for Salah/Solanke/Ox to score - well he is part striker and you would once in a while expect some level of greed to creep in to his thinking and actions.

Bad day at the office - but at least we did not lose the game.

What??? Salah was shattered. Mane was being an arse on the field but he sure as hell wasn't more tired than Salah.
You think? I thought Mane looked sluggish a lot of the second half. Makes not resting either of them second half midweek look even more strange

Rest, rest, rest, kinell if athletes in their 20s can’t play two games of football in 7 days then I don’t know what to tell you. Tired, Jesus Christ stop it

How come tennis players can play up to 4 hours every other day in tournaments lasting two weeks, often under the blazing sun, stop with this tired self perpetuating shite.

Yep - have to agree, Mane looked quite lazy in his passing and general decision making. Salah was shattered but he is quite clever in that he was using his energy to pull that special goal all the time. Did not seem to want to do a lot of running. I actually thought Henderson had a good game overall despite that stupid shot near the end.

I always thought Klopp was gonna play Solanke today but with Sturridge too, and maybe Firmino and rest the other front men (or bring them in the second half).

Exactly, shite agenda driven rhetoric. Other managers, when it's suited, have been crucified for resting key players in key games

Now it's fucking genius

First of all Tennis is a soft feminin sport were Maldini could go pro after laying up his boots. Second there is zero tennis players that have played 7 4-hours matches in 14 days. You can't name one single player that did it. Even if you pretend to be thick I don't believe you are that thick.

And if it was something learned from last season it is that January and February requires some fresh legs. We obviously try to prepare for that.
