Liverpool v Everton Match Thread

Cmon mark... the game was marginal?? We were comfortable as hell and should have been three or four up and deserved to be so as well, even with our rotated team.

Was the game important yes it was, did we deserve to draw it? Did we fuck... we got robbed... Everton didn’t deserve fucking anything today and the ref and a couple of silly attacking moves cost us the points that we actually deserved.

Fat Sam... give a fuck if he is smiling... he is still a fat cunt useless manager in charge of a bag of shit team, he got very very lucky today but that will not always happen.

In terms of clear chances, it was marginal. The scoreline reflects that.

I'd play the front four unless I was told any of them might get injured and needed a rest. I imagine Klopp would, too.

Robertson, whom I like, bottled it today far too often. It's understandable to an extent, he's not played much and he maybe lacks confidence, but he needs to learn from this - don't just keep passing it back to the 'big boys' and breathe a sigh of relief. Take responsibility.

Henderson, ditto, had a stinker. I've said before I don't think he's really 'right' mentally and I thought the same again today. And for him to hit such an atrocious shot way over the bar at a key time - well, there's simply no excuse. He has no justification in his recent past to suggest that shot, technically, is on. Either he learns to shoot better or he doesn't shoot. I used to say the same about Hamman, who, I see from his media pronouncements, has become a much better player in that respect since he quit. Good job he didn't have people like him trolling him when he played.

Gomez for me was the one bright light - what a mature player he is for his age. If he stays clear of further injuries, what a player he'll become.

Macca - Robertson was good, I thought. He's an intelligent player.

Macca was right about him. He had about 4 chances where if he was playing for Scotland or Hull he'd have shot, and he didn't. He needs to grow a pair. I'm not picking on him, I understand, but he should have had a few shots today.

He was solid, I thought, and I agree with you that he's intelligent, but, today, when he got into that position, midway in their half or a bit more forward, where you need to either take the ball and be aggressive or pass it quickly to someone in a better position, I thought he just gave it to Milner far too often and then backtracked with an air of 'Right, that's me out of it'. As I said, I like him, but I thought he lacked confidence today.

Coutinho was the man to unpick Big Sam's 10-man defence with his sharp scalpel. He has the ability to bring out the best in Salah and Mané.
If Klopp really needed to rest him, he should have done so on Wednesday against Spartak Moscow.

You should have said that on Tuesday.

And another thing - Allardyce chuntering away into that stupid microphone hanging on his ear all the time. I thought even he'd ditched that ridiculous gimmick ages ago. The endless loving shots of him from his mates on Sky made me want to stamp on that bloody head set, while he was wearing it. And Sammy Lee can get fecked, too.

The reason I am so furious with mane is I knew he wasn't going to pass the second the situation emerged. You can see it all over him that his head's gone funny. He is actually more arsed about brand Mane than getting the points.
He's extremely selfish at the minute. I don't think he likes Salah being an absolute don

There's something not right about Mane at the moment. I don't even know why they persist with this 'fab four' crap when he clearly seems to be out of sorts. There's an attitude problem.

Fuck Mane. If I was Mo Salah I'd be ringing my mates up and getting Lovren in an orange jumpsuit in a cage. He cost us the points.

I don't mind the resting players obsession, it's been paying off lately and you can't bitch at him when his luck eventually runs out.

Yep. That moment is absolute proof of an attitude problem. It wasn't just 'strikers instinct' or whatever such bollocks; it was completely obnoxious.

It's nowhere near an obsession. It's actually been pretty mild. I guess people are feeling nostalgic for that time at Elland Road when Owen went down as though someone had shot him.

Since when has Solanke been part of any rotation plan? He's had about 12 mins all season then replaces Frim, who's been on fire. It's just fucking stupid.

Yep, the fact that Firminho, in the absence of Lallana, is our most high energy player, and needs a break, is irrelevant if the player who replaces him hasn't played much.

The point I’m making isn’t about rotation per se, I don’t really hold with it and I think “tiredness” becomes a self fulfilling prophecy but that’s a bit of a separate issue to the point I’m making, I think this front four is a once in a generation thing and We’re going to lose it very shortly, possible as early as next month. Utilise them every chance you get for me,they will be gone soon enough.

I suppose he could have played Salah as a striker and then someone else wide, rather than pick any one of the three or four excuses for strikers we have.

We drew against a load of shite, and it's the derby. I'm very unhappy about it. I'd have rested him against West Brom if needed a break.

I don’t think anyone wants Klopp sacked, but it’s certainly reasonable to question him and his decisions, especially when he selects a side that not ONE single Liverpool fan would have chosen pre-match.

It’s all very well to talk about rotation and keeping players fresh, but when you start a fucking DERBY with a team that has no Coutinho, two of his first choice midfielders missing, and his main striker replaced with a young player who hasnt started more than one game in the Premiership in his fucking life - if you don’t win you’re getting to get it in the fucking neck and deservedly so

And Klopp knows it, which is why he was so obviously rattled in that cringey post-match interview when he got his arse handed to him by the assembled hacks

Jesus, I just watched Klopp's interview. He won't learn anything.

In an injury crisis, make six changes and put a kid up front. That's not where we are, it was pure arrogance.

I think most of us need to take a chill pill and resume tomorrow. This is getting hopelessly illogical.
