2-0 after 8 mins. 2 goals by Amoo.
Gulacsi, Darby, Robinson, Irwin [kaptein], Wilson, Wisdom, Amoo, Shelvey, Eccleston, Suso, Ince.

Suso, Shelvey, Wilson and Amoo look very impressive.

Roy is in the stands aswell.

Might give them some cheeky game time on thurs to protect some people for sunday

Amoo just blew a huge chance to get his hat trick. Wilson is ready for the European games easy, he's quality. Fantastic talent.

I'm watching it on LFC TV.

Wilson has been the stand out in that first half. Fuck me how good this lad is going to be.

Amoo, Shelvey, Suso, Wisdom, Robinson, Ecclestone and Ince all been good. There are a lot of talented players in our set up at the moment.

And when you add Coady, Ngoo, Sterling, Sylva and Adam Morgan to that list.
Well, you just have get a bit excited..

What precisely is "cheeky game time"?

One of the young wide players should be on the first team bench with a view to coming on with 15/20 minutes left to expose a tiring opposing defence.

...........and as I've just posted on another thread Ayala has just scored on loan at Hull City and apparently has been the "key" player of the half (that was before he scored so he's even more key now!)

Is Amoo playing as a striker or a winger? I thought he looked a bit like Aaron Lennon in the preseason games.

Winger. He's been good tonight.

Hmm. We could really do with someone fast who scores goals on one of the wings.

MOM probably between Wisdom and Wilson. Didn't put a foot wrong all night. Our future centre back pairing?

Shelvey showed his all round game in the second half, he made a lot of great challenges aswell as passing the ball well.

Oh, I see. Cheeky. It all makes perfect sense.

I wonder if Stephen Darby will be the reserves right back in 10 years time aswell. He's always been there, and will probably stay forever. He's got a big heart that lad, shame the talent isn't good enough.

Shelvey didn't really stand out, which was disappointing as I was hoping to see him run the game. And I thought Wisdom looked better than Wilson - might have just been the tiredness, but I didn't really notice at Wilson at all aside from one hesitant moment.

There was some nice interplay between Suso, Ince and Ecclestone throughout the match, which was good to see. Ince is an interesting player as he doesn't quite stand out in terms of pace or technique, but he seems to have "game intelligence".

I think it'd be easier to say if we had a better track record of bringing through youngsters. It was easy to pick out Kelly on because of his obvious quality and physical attributes, but also his ability to slot to play in problem positions for us. A lot of these guys however play in positions we'll be reluctant to give youngsters games in, so they're going to have to be pretty fantastic to break through. Even Pacheco is going to have to work hard to get a look in it would seem.

You'd think that Shelvey and Wilson will be given opportunities - certainly in the Carling Cup - to impress as both have had a reasonable amount of first team experience already and we've made a relatively significant investment in both.

From the other youngsters, I'd say Wisdom and Suso look the two most naturally talented and hopefully that'll end up meaning something.

So who'll be the first of those players to break into the first team on a regular basis? Balls on the line...
[/quote]

In the first team: Wilson.

To be a star: Thomas Ince.

We've got so many CBs though. Maybe if we release one of them soon, Wilson will get a look-in. I just have a feeling that a RW with real pace is exactly what we need, and that if Babel isn't going to play there, then Amoo might. Particularly given that his competition (when Kuyt is injured, as now, or deployed elsewhere) is the glacially slow Maxi. Mind you, I've only seen Amoo play a few games, so maybe I'm being over-optimistic...

Was it you BM who said he looked a bit like Aaron Lennon? That was the impression I got when I saw him play. There's a few of them who are a bit raw, they've got good pace, reasonable control and skill, but fast attackers are ten a penny at that level, we've had a few ourselves, the thing that impresses me more about a few of these lads is their ability to hold off players too, hopefully that might be the difference with this crop.

Got to say though, looking at the young lads, I'm excited that at least a couple of them look like they will make it, I haven't felt like that in ages about our reserve/youth sides.

As for Kelly, I really hope he gets some more games, I'm completely unconvinced by Johnson at fullback.

Johnson's the best winger at Liverpool. As has been said many times before, he should be played RW with Kelly behind him.
