Liverpool in for Van Bommel

The agent of Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel claims Liverpool have made an enquiry about the player but better offers have come in from elsewhere.

The Dutch midfielder is out of contract in the summer and unlikely to sign a new deal with the reigning German champions.

Van Bommel could leave this month should the right offer come in, and his agent Mino Raiola revealed there is competition for his signature.

"I know about Liverpool's interest, but other offers are currently more interesting," Raiola told Germany's Bild newspaper.

Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg and Serie A leaders AC Milan are understood to be keen on the 33-year-old, and Raiola says he is working on placing his client with a new club.

"I cannot guarantee 100% that he will stay (with Bayern), but there is no rush with negotiations - I just have to do a good job.

"I have got to find Mark the perfect club and we still have enough time for that."

Van Bommel joined Bayern Munich four years ago and became their captain when Oliver Kahn retired in 2008.

However, following the arrival of Luiz Gustavo from Hoffenheim earlier this month, there is more competition for his place at the heart of the midfield and he has hinted that he could be on his way out.

"You never know what the future brings," Van Bommel said.

"I am concentrating on Bayern while my agent takes care of all the rest."

He is 35. As long as he is not looking for one last pay day, i won't mind. But the deal should clearly be short term deal and relatively cheap. I would cry if we paid a premium for this cunt.

Someone on here once said Van Bommel at least used to run a lot but nowadays he just strolls around the pitch and kicks people, I'd say that's a pretty fair summary.

And before we signed Poulsen he had a similar reputation of being a cunt who's not afraid of a nasty tackle and it turned out he wasn't just shit but a complete fucking pussy as well.

I don't think it's just the world cup Ken. That probably served to highlight his playing style, but in truth he's been doing that sort of shit for years. He also has a penchant for waving imaginary yellow cards added to the fact that he goes down very easily for a big guy.

Then when you think he's built himself up as a midfield enforcer/general type player, it's just hypocritical considering his aforementioneed traits.
If a load of other players do all of that as well, then well, they're cunts too. Van Bommel is simply one of the dirtiest players in world football. He has been for a long time. The only reason why he hasn't got as much bile on here, as he undoutebly has on other forums, is that we haven't come against his teams much in the last few years. Also much of his cuntishness has been useful in knocking out the likes of United in recent years, so obviously he's got leniency from Pool fans there too.
