I dont care how many people he kicks or how much of a cunt he is. He's old and not very good, and slow, and surplus to requirements in a weaker league.
He's Mark van poulsen.
And he can get fucked.

Hehe, I think that more or less sums it up.
[/quote]I just want us to stop signing players there are huge question marks over. I know there is no sure fire thing, and opinions vary but if half the forum is saying 'Is he too old' 'Isnt he injured a lot' 'Isnt there a reason he's at a lower league club' 'Isnt he christian poulsen' etc, then chances are they will be a fucking massive flop.
The forum in its own way is a pretty good barometer.
Konchesky-Hes old and shit and will flop (says forum) - Result FLOP
Joe Cole - Hes injury prone and not as good as you think (says forum) - Result FLOP
Poulsen - Hes old and shit (says forum) - result FLOP
Meireles - Good player, im really happy (says forum) - Result GOOD.

A thought quite a few Liverpool fans were excited about us signing Joe Cole?
Not sure about the general opinion here on SCM, I was away from the forum when the signing happened.

RAFA4PM:
I'd be a little worried about his injury record and how much it would cost us in wages though
FARKMASTER:
Am I the only one that doesn't think he's that good, especially considering his injury record?
BRENDAN:
Not massively keen
Sounds like so many of our desperate 'just what we need' players who want massive wages, are often injured, and best years are behind them
MARK1975:
I'd be cautious for those reasons if we were signing him for a big fee and we weren't in our current state
PETERHAGUE:
A step up on benayoun if he stays more or less uninjured, which he probably won't.
KOPKING:
I'm not so sure that he is a step up from Benayoun. I've never been a fan of Joe Cole, but he is English and we need more homegrown players for the new regulations and he's free.
THE COUNT:
A couple of seasons ago I would have been over the moon at the signing of Joe Cole but I am a tad concerned now about the effect his injuries may have on his form.
Would have been a better buy than Keane at the time but then he is not exactly on his own in that catogery
SAINTGEORGE:
It seems to me like the harry kewell saga again. I hope he proves me wrong
.
HERR ONCEARED:
The idea of Joe Cole is way better'n the actual Joe Cole.
In theory he's a diminutive footballing genius who can control the tempo of a game and create a chance out of nothing (this theory is normally the one espoused when he is injured or not playing in the team)
But in practice he's a massive headed slightly downsy looking barrell chested cockerney cheeky chappie who more often than not does nothing of any note on the football pitch and rarely scores or creates anything but occassionally beats a man with a trick before wiping his massive head with his sweatband and being substituted on 60 mins.
There were others im sure. Farky was the most vocal in his hatred. Of course some where very positive about the signing, but the point is the DOUBTS were there. I want players who the doubts arent there with like Meireles.

Wow, thanks, that's an impressive collection.
