Leicester Post Game

John Aizelwood in The Times:

"Mamadou Sakho, who has the same comedic cult-hero status on the Kop of Neil Ruddock and Torben Piechnik"

Bizarre thing to say by someone who is supposed to be a clued-in local hack.
Especially considering Ruddock was never even close to a "comedic cult hero status", despite the fact he seems to think he was hilarious, the fans never did, & he definitely wasn't a cult hero in any sense of the term.

I didn't bother reading past page one, because I was out having a heap of pints with the lads, but how is anyone criticising Lallana? How many 'decent' games does he have to have before you motherfuckers give his dues?

Fucking nerds, I swear.
Goals and assists. Not wasting clear cut chances.

I'm not a fan of 'imo/imho'.
I understand when someone makes a post they are giving their opinion(most of the time). You don't not need to remind me that it's your opinion with 'imo/imho'.
I hate people who expect please and thank you, they should know a please is implicit during the request and thank you is implicit after the request has been actioned.

That game highlighted the best and worst of Liverpool these days - we're not particularly good but we become good enough when we are up for it and decide to out-run the opposition. The same is probably true of the league as a whole this year, explaining the position of teams like Leicester, Watford and the like. It's just a shame that we've not been able to find that tiny bit more consistency in our efforts that would've seen us easily in the mix for the top 4.

Think people are going overboard with praise of the defence - it was total panic stations when Leciester properly attacked us rather than measured defending. And Sakho (who I am a fan of) had some truly awful moments.

As for the attack, it's painful watching players make the wrong decision almost every time - passing when they need to shoot and shooting when they need to pass. I don't really know what the solution is here other than perhaps time - this group of players just don't seem to be in-sync at all.

Anyways, good result and a much needed one after the last few games. Well done to the team for managing to lift themselves for Leicester.

He was the fat cunt who started the '£1 Coin game' - For that alone he can fuck off. I did quite enjoy his winding up of Cantona though.

Sakho's gone from being rated by the media as 'awkward and clumsy' to 'surprisingly impressive' and back to 'awkward and clumsy' in record time. But I don't know of anyone other than this hack who'd rate him as the equal of Torben flippin Piechnik!
I'm not really a Sakho fan as I find him 'awkward and clumsy' - I know most here disagree with me. I will say though he's no fucking Piechnik! Cheeky hack twat!

r.
That's it for me. When we nearly won th league we had pretty much the same team each week who all knew how each other played. We've signed a shitload of players since, and they play like they don't know each other. Henderson's pass yesterday for example - in a team on the same wavelength that's always a goal

I hoped Firmino and Benteke can form a partnership up front, but I don't see it happening anymore - their styles of play are just too different. Benteke needs someone super quick and direct like Agbonlahor to play off him and Firmino probably needs someone like Sturridge...

Oh well, we'll need to find a different solution then. Let's hope Origi isn't out for long, I can see him potentially playing well with any of our disparate collection of strikers.

Benteke needs too many chances to score, and doesn't offer enough in an attacking build up, goes down far too easily. Won't last 2 seasons, should be sold as soon as other options are available.

According to Lawro:

"The away dressing room wasn't a happy place at Vicarage Road last Sunday.
I'm reliably informed that as Liverpool traipsed back into the bowels of the stadium, some of the senior professionals took it upon themselves to declare one thing.
That simply CANNOT happen again.
They simply can't allow teams to run over them and knock them out of their stride.
The older players realise that's a problem".

  1. I doubt anyone at the club reliably informs Lawro about anything, except the next taxi to Deepdale.
  2. If it's taken the 'senior pros' this long to realise this, they must be even thicker than I thought.

From what I saw of the game - it is clear our bunch of gutless and inconsistent players - are able to play football and seem to have more possession of the ball in these games than we had under Rodgers. But the ability to make that possession count seems non-existent at times as our final third play is just not there for most the game, and explains the low number of shots on target. If we produced some clear chances (and scored from the regularly when we did create them) - I would have some hope for the next game. I have no idea what to expect from this team of ours in the next game ? - will they turn up or will they show f*ck all ? - with both United, and Arsenal losing I feel like we have missed so many opportunities this season. Drives me nuts.

Oh- can't leave without saying something about the Benteke miss - you have to ask now - is he fucking dumb ? - when a player misses chances like that or does not realize the opportunity - especially an empty goal to hit at - I wonder if they are really an instinctive striker, and when they do score a goal is it more of a fluke because they tried something in the box. I really don't think he is up to the job.

It's to make sure the person understands this is not a speech about "facts".

If Rafa had just said IMHO first he would never have gotten as much flack from the media.

I wouldn't go as far as "hate" but it certainly doesn't impress me. If those posts from Foxy and redhorizon aren't wind-ups, I very strongly disagree with them. "Implicit" is no use at all in such circs. IMHO.
Hahaha. Mine was very much sarcastic! If my kids don't say please & thank you the only thing they get is a clip round the ear!

It's no coincidence that people constantly tell us our kids are very polite & we'll mannered as a result.

When I was 17 I used to read The Mirror on my way to work (i know, but I was young), & got £20 for doing their quote of the day that they used to put on their front page footer.

"Good manners cost you nothing, but they can buy you an awful lot"

There's no excuse for not saying please & thank you.

Blimey I was told to mind my P's & Q's from as far back as I remember. Not only that but my Mum and Grandmother were both old school and taught me to enunciate to the point where if I want to I could cut glass with my pronunciation. I don't in everyday situations (as most who have met me will confirm) I can though when the need arises. I have found it a fairly useful thing on occasion.....

Did anyone else notice that after Bentekes missed sitter there was a handball onto Lucas's follow up header by a Leicester defender?

Peno I say.
