Inter are seen as a side which might win the title in the next ten years.

And are the defending European Champions.

We're a mess, a club who not even are own players wish to play for.

I think it's more to do with being a league's top team as opposed to 4th place contenders, also there is the Benitiez factor.

A rather promising window is going to be shattered by the departures of Kuyt, Mascherano and Aquilani

That's £55M of talent going and no time and little money to replace any of it.
This is exactly how I feel. Were fucking fucked and it has fucking fucked me off to fuck for fuck sake fucking fuckers.
I was all ready to start the army up, then this coupled with saggy face showing rafa levels of useless fucking incompetencies in just two games. Annus fucking horriblis part II here we fucking come.
Haha, I'm totally with you there.

Let's sit and be cynical and morbid together.

Is Kuyt 30 now?

15M would be a pretty good deal for him if it's offered. I'd sell for that price, but only if it was fully reinvested in the squad.
I agree. But with 6 days left its going to be very difficult to reinvest any monies coming in.
Konchesky and Etuhu
I rest my case your honour

But its not quite as simple as whether Inter are bigger or not is it?

They have money, we do not.
There's the chance to work with a man who values him highly (not saying Roy doesn't)
They are in a better position to competer for trophies and we are not
He's 30 and his career is closer to ending that it is beginning so he has financial issues to consider

If we get the right money for him, are able to reinvest it and can do so within this window, then I'm happy to sell.

It all depends on who's coming the other way though, right?
I'm guessing we have players lined up that will be signed once Mascher leaves.

I can't see Kuyt leaving to be honest. If he plays tomorrow he's definetly staying.

What it boils down to is this :-

If a new owner where to take over Liverpool, the Premier League would have to be advised 10 days before that take was completed. So we're not getting any new owners or any new cash injection in this transfer window. Simple as.

Hicks is trying to re-finace... we know this... sogiven that it appears that no-one is buying us & the Board are allegedly in favour of refinancing... wher does that leave us?

We're clearly not spending any money to try and ensure 4th place and the CL next year.

Really... seriously... do we think weakening last years squad and replacing Benitez with Hodgson isgoing to enhance our chances of a top 4 finish?

However, selling a few "key" players, payting down the debt to make re-financing more viable while appointing a manager with a reputation for getting decent results with no money & an average squad.... might just allow Hicks, and even Gilette, to hang on long enough to get to a position where they can make some money puit of LFC by selling.

End result.... nothing.

Last year was a disappointment... this year will be called re-building... and next year we'll start all over again....

The board were 60/40 in favour according to one of the only people on here who seems to be genuinely ITK
He read it on twitter.

if G&H succeed in refinancing the loan, we're finished, the amount it would then take to buy the club I can't see us being bought out.

The 60/40 thing was told to me by the same lad who gives the team info, he did also say a while back there would be a big announcement about the takeover which didn't materialise so refinancing might not be on the cards all we can do is wait and watch. With regards to the takeover I won't believe anything till its happened now it pisses me right off.

Everything Spion said above. GBP15M ? Give me that for a 30 year old Dirka Dirk and I'll bite yer arm off !

And who knows what Hodgson has in the works. As has been said before - come the end of the window we'll know if it was a good one or not. However whether he goes or stays I get the feeling he is not as highly rated by Hodgson as he is by Rafa. David Luiz is still on isn't he ? Straight Swop (different clubs - same prices) - Yes Please !

Hodgson:

"When he left the club Rafael Benitez signed an agreement that he would not poach players from Liverpool. We haven't received an offer from any club so this is something obviously going on behind the scenes, with the agent possibly talking to the manager of Inter Milan.

"We don't welcome any offers, we haven't received an offer and at this late stage of the transfer window it would be remarkably unusual for us to accept an offer for a player we don't want to leave for money we don't need.

"I would suggest, with respect, if his agent had a serious plan to move him to the club he should have been working during the last four to five weeks and not the last few days. It is highly unlikely we could receive any offer from another club which we could seriously entertain."

doesn't seem like he's going anywhere
