Keane, Reira and Dossena wasn't exactly mouthwatering either.
Nope.

I'm looking forward towards this window:

What we expect - What we'll get
Cahill -----------> Dann
Baines -----------> Warnock
Adam ------------> McCarthy
Young -----------> Jarvis
Wickham --------> None

Bankruptcy - Barely make it.
Both sets of those players you've listed fill me with dread.
Yeah well, I'll tell you this, forget about Sanchez, Hazard, Coentrao etc.
It's only March. In all likelyhood, we'll be linked with completely different players by the time it's the Summer. Maybe even players of the quality of Suarez, whom we managed to get, despite people thinking we're finished and that we can't attract top quality.

Suarez was a fantastic acquisition but we were lucky that none of the top clubs were looking to get him during the winter.

The thing is Marky, I'm keeping my expectations low on purpose because:
1. I've been disappointed so many times before with our transfer dealings.
2. No CL, maybe no Europa League, nothing won for five years. What's the attraction? (excl fans)
3. That Dutch cunt Affellay. How stupid do you have to be to join Barca with Iniesta (adopted catalan), Messi (adopted catalan), Pedro (Catalan), Bojan (Catalan) on the wings?
That is certifiable, lock him up and observe him through a peep hole.

I've learned enough to know that football and it's market are unpredictable. I won't get my hopes up but I trust in Kenny to have a certain type of player in mind that will benefit the team, whether they play for Barca or Wolves is neither here nor there, aslong as we continue to improve, which I'm sure we will if things carry on as well as they have done in recent months.

Exactly Mark.

I don't think any of us really have a clue at what FSG will allow us to do in the transfer market this summer. Personally though i wouldn't count out another player in the Suarez price range joining us.

It's hard to know how it will go really. January was FSG's first transfer window and the money they spent was more or less the money we received for Torres. So opinions can't really be made either way until we see what's available in the Summer. If they'd taken any of the Torres money after what happened with the other two clowns, there'd have been an uproar.

People keep saying that it was a statement of intent, that they let us spend the entire fee received, and that we've broken the British transfer record, great, but let's see what they make available next.

They could pull a G & H on us. "We invested a great deal on club we bought Torres for £25 Million".

To be fair they would have spent more money if deals had gone through, Young and Adam.
And there was the Richards bid aswell.

I'm not sure we were "lucky" to get Slightly Bigger Luis. He was sitting pretty at Ajax so, if it's true he told Comolli "I want to join Liverpool, I only want to play for Liverpool", I reckon he meant it. Ferguson was interested in Torres before we signed him, but Torres had made up his mind to come to us.

Yeah, and in hindsight it meant nothing. When Torres joined we had something going here. Alonso, Gerrard and Mascherano at the club, just lost a CL final, why not join?

ManUre would still have been a better bet if all that mattered to him was gloryhunting. League wins are far better evidence of winning potential than Cup Final appearances.

1. I've been disappointed so many times before with our transfer dealings. True but not once with FSG in charge
2. No CL, maybe no Europa League, nothing won for five years. What's the attraction? (excl fans) Do you even have to ask? It's Liverpool we are talking about! The reputation alone will attract players. That and the wages won't be bad either.

To be frank I find your constant doom-mongering regarding summer transfers pretty damn irritating(no offence like).

Yeah it's been difficult keeping it up. It's too much, the whole Carra - Cahill thing, downplaying potential transfers, Pacheco etc.
You know what I'm gonna lay low for a while cause tbh it depressing me as well. I'm out, we'll see how long I can go without a fix.

Can you imagine if Rafa had have signed Owen Hargreaves?

The internet would have imploded.

The club should send Hodgson a thank you card for buying that lump of shit for us.

Bouquet of flowers for when Crapsen leaves.

Paul Konchesky will play his final game for the Reds' on Saturday, when they take on Scunthorpe United at the City Ground.

Konchesky arrived at the club, as a 93 day emergency loan signing from Liverpool and his loan period expires after the game with the Iron.

He's made 14 appearances for us since joining at the end of January, scoring one goal.
He scored a vital goal in the 2-2 draw with Preston back in February and has been an integral part of the side since. He also picked up 5 yellow cards and earned a red in the 2-1 defeat at Norwich a fortnight ago.

The departure of Konchesky means that once again, Forest are left short in the left back department and will be reliant on Joel Lynch, who isn't 100% fit yet and Julian Bennett, who has hardly had any game time since returning from injury and a loan spell at Crystal Palace.

It doesn't look as though a permanent deal for Konchesky will be happening at the City Ground, but it is rumoured that he will return to his former club Fulham in the summer. That should at least please his Mum.

Ho ho ho

BILLY Davies admits he has a familiar problem to solve when Nottingham Forest face Crystal Palace today.

With Paul Konchesky having returned to Liverpool, following the expiry of his loan spell, the Reds boss must decide who to play at left back.

Davies is happy to have options – but is concerned about having to unsettle his back four again.

"It is unhealthy having eight different players play in the position this season," he said. "That disrupts things.

"We do not also have the option of changing things tactically, at the back, with Kelvin Wilson and Joel Lynch out.

"We cannot rotate or rest players in defence.

"I am talking about Luke Chambers and Wes Morgan, mainly. That does effect things, when you look at consistency and fatigue."

Davies was pleased with Konchesky's contribution.

"We thank Liverpool for Konch, because he was first class. He had a great attitude," said Davies.
"Now there are a couple of players we can play at left-back, in his place.

"We have Julian Bennett, Chris Gunter and Chris Cohen. We will look at the training situation and will see what we think."

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew wants to sign left-back Stephen Warnock from Aston Villa - to take over from Jose Enrique.

Pardew is trying to get a straight answer out of managerless Villa for the unsettled former England defender, who was left out in the cold under Gerard Houllier.

The Toon are willing to pay around £1million for Warnock - they are trying to keep the fee down to help them afford his wages, which are in the region of £45,000-a-week.

Pardew has made Warnock his first preference - despite being offered Paul Konchesky by Liverpool as part of a deal for Spanish star Enrique.

Kop boss Kenny Dalglish wants Enrique and is closing in on a deal, with the clubs haggling over valuations and possible exchanges.

Warnock is a more straightforward move and Newcastle hope to get the go-ahead once the Brummies sort out their managerial muddle.

Ha. They're seemingly doing well in the transfer market - Cabeye and Ba looks like decent signings. Ben Arfa's returning from injury and Tiote had already impressed in his debut EPL season.

Joining the likes of Degen on players whom we can't move on permanently?
Liverpool left back Paul Konchesky wants to join Portsmouth on a season-long loan.

The main competition for the 30-year-old may come from Wolves
, who are also interested in Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand, 21 - as are Nottingham Forest.

WOLVES are set to move for Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky.

Konchesky, 30, would be available for a fraction of the £3.5million that Liverpool paid Fulham for him last season.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy also wants Birmingham's Roger Johnson and Craig Gardner.

Hahahaha, what's a fraction of £3.5m these days?
We may as well give him away, in fact that's not a bad idea.
Does his old fish-wife of a mother still have her facebook account, that fucked him more than playing crap?

*celebrates with safety dance*

Im actually more excited by his pending departure than I am about most of the signings we've been linked with!
