Kelly at left-back?

Carra was excellent defensively at both right and left back but as is the case now he didn't really contribute much going forward.

Far, far, far from a disaster.

Only a clueless twat would ever say Carra was a disaster at LB. He was great there in the Treble year under Houllier

So fucking shut up

I think Ossi must be thinking of one of carragher's very first season when we were quite ropey at the back and he was quite young.

Stronger, quicker and more physical than Aurelio and more of a natural full-back than Agger. Carragher was superb there under Ged, why not Kelly?

Eerrrr...Carragher was a DISASTER as fullback. But yeah, give Kelly a run.

Nonsense. In those days he was MUCH better at fullback than in the centre. It was Rafa who turned him into a top CB.

I thought he was great at CB towards the end of Ged's final season.
I keep hearing people say Rafa turned him into a CB. Ged did, and Rafa carried on using him there.

Am I the only one who generally doesn't like players playing on the opposite side of the pitch to what favoured foot they use?

I know there are many examples of players succeeding doing this, like Henry, Irwin etc, but generally, especially at fullback, it ends in disaster.

yea generally i'm not a fan, but a right footed kelly v a left footed adam johnson might have been a good call on monday night

Every time Kelly has played for the first team in a competitive game he has excelled wether it be on the right or on the left. I think he should play at LB tomorrow and if he has a good game then should be in the stating line-up against west brom.

I don't recall that TBH but, even assuming it's true, if it was towards the end of GH's final season it might or might not have lasted. It certainly took Rafa to establish Carra in that position.

I haven't liked Paul Konchesky since the FA Cup final.

At least celebrate like you're a bit embarrassed!

Kelly should've played against Citeh.

I must admit I find it completely stupid to play Agger when the medical staff wasn't even sure he was ready after suffering from concussion. It's not like he contributed in that game anyways so we could've spared him the after-match nautios and Kelly could've got another game under his belt.
