Lazio's move for Fabio Borini may involve sending young talent Keita Balde Diao to Liverpool as part of the deal.

The Rome outfit are desperate to land Borini as they prepare for a season which will have Champions League football after their finish of third in Serie A last term.
Lazio have been eyeing a loan move for Borini, while a cash deal has also been mooted. But including Keita in the transfer could change its nature completely.

According to Italian daily Il Tempo, Lazio could sell Keita to Liverpool, who would put Borini plus around €2m on the plate for the young forward.

Keita's agent last night opened his client to the possibility of moving to Liverpool, explaining that Brendan Rodgers would be a good manager for the former Barcelona youth product.

The forward has been linked with Liverpool in the past and his agent is unhappy at his restricted role at Lazio under coach Stefano Pioli last season.

However, there is serious interest in Keita coming from Roberto Mancini's Inter.

Nerazzurri owner Erick Thohir is a big fan of the young forward and it has been speculated he is ready to spend €12m to take him to the San Siro.

Scored 47 goals in a season whilst out on loan from Barcelona a few years ago. Wasn't for a La Liga team, think it was a second division team

He looks reasonably promising. Fast, quite skilful attacker. Hasn't really done much in senior football yet.

I'd defo take him on that kind of deal.

Seydou Keita + Bobo Balde + Salif Diao rolled into one? 😛

I'm beginning to hope we just let him rot for another season. The amounts of money being talked about are dismal.

I think Borini just wants to be a bench warmer. He hasnt got the fight to play, this much has been evident ever since he came back from sunderland after fainting there while playing a little bit more regularly. Its all speculative...but i have never seen anything from him that says he is even remotely keen to play football.

He will do enough to keep earning some sort of a contract but will never ever play regularly....thats what i feel.

In terms of wages and transfer fee Borini has been a disastrous signing. It really is unforgiveable for a manager to sign a player he has already worked with previous who has turned out so poor.

Hasn't he just married an English girl, too. I'm guessing its her who doesn't want to go.

He's gone down in my estimation, from a grudging respect when he returned from Sunderland to fight for his place, to being an absolute cunt.

I said it a while ago, and I'll say it again, we need to pay someone to seduce his wife and ruin his marriage.

Fucker won't want to stay in Liverpool then.

Who was it who met him and his mrs in the Seychelles? I'd have poisoned their sushi and hope the insurance paid out

First signing of Brendan Rodgers's Anfield reign 😵
[article=http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/18823096]Rodgers believes Liverpool fans will enjoy watching Borini in action.

"He's one of the few young players in the full Italian squad," said the Liverpool manager.

"I'd anticipate that over the next two or three years he'll really progress and I'm sure do very well for Liverpool.

"Fabio fits the model of what we're trying to do in building not only for now, but also for the future.

"He's a big talent, 21 years of age, he scores goals, and his passion, focus and concentration is a very important part of his game - and a big part of what you want from a player."[/article]

So you're all finally catching up to my vituperation towards him!

I really didn't like him before anyway, but now I'm close to wishing irreparable damage upon him. He's the very definition of a beggar being a chooser.

It's borderline tragic when you really start thinking through the consequences of what he did last year. Would the £30m lost on him and Balotelli have bought us a top striker? Probably. Would that striker have made the difference in getting CL? Quite possibly.

Etc etc. Did Borini cost LFC £100m+? It's arguable.

Wasnt there a story about West Ham and Sunderland being interested?

Hopefully he'll fuck off soon.

It's Rodgers who wanted him, and it's Liverpool that agreed it was a good idea and gave him a big fat pay check for 5 years service.
Borini's simply choosing the easiest route to continue earning the millions that we promised him.
I want him gone, but it's ultimately Liverpool FC that cost Liverpool FC 100+ million.
After all, we could also be asking if the 45m+ spent on Lambert, Lallana and Ballotelli could have got us a world class striker. Borini wouldn't have made much of a difference had we spent better last summer.
