It seems from the transfer rumors that Rodgers is actively in the market for a LB and Saints are considering a 5 million bid for Enrique. What are your feelings on this? Is Enrique expendable, or does he have some qualities that we'll miss? Overall, do you think he's been a success here since his transfer from Newcastle?

I like Enrique. He needs competition, but I don't think that's a priority for this window.

I think we can do better but I do like Enrique and it seems like he improved as the season moved along. He also found a lot of joy late in the season linking up with Coutinho and Sturridge on the left side and suddenly looked a lot better with players of quality around him. Also seems like he finally started passing the ball earlier instead of dribbling, dribbling, dribbling, and finally passing after the chance had gone.

Also as I have mentioned before with Glen it seems like he is either an A or a C- each time out, we need more consistent B+ performances from him. As for Enrique he doesn't have the highs of Magic but he also doesn't necessarily have as many lows and he seems to be more consistent.

I like him. Strong, decent passer, threat going forward, experienced. Just needs to cut out the dallying on the ball in dangerous areas. GET RID! (of the ball not the player) I hope he'll stay.

Defensively in open play he's brilliant. Nobody ever gets past him, and when there's an overlap he manages to use his speed and shield the ball amazingly well for a goal kick.
Attacking is the weird one.. He can make some sublime passes at times, scored the team goal of the season too, but sometimes just runs into players when a simple pass is all he needs to do.

I'd say we're far better with our players down the left than we are down the right. Sooner get rid of Johnson and/or Downing.

Realistically we'd be committing suicide if we replaced our fullbacks, considering it would only leave Agger in the side from this season. CB is the priority. I hope Enrique plays on.

Don't like him, wouldn't shed any tears if he left but for 7 million I'd probably have to say he's been a moderate success.

He has this hesitancy about his play at times I really don't like, there's an easy ball on.... nope i'll turn stick my arse in the way and slow down the play or give the ball away.

I've not seen an 'A performance' from Johnson in a looong long time. He's been C- on his good days.

Careful Sean. Thats borderline hopeful, optimistic and bright.
You'll have to throw those Daffs out of your back pocket in a minute.

I think he should stay.
On a bad day he JUST defends.
On a good day hes unplayable.

I agree with what the others have mentioned. Think its more for competition/cover than immediate replacement. We've seen how Johnson has been used as a LB cover. Meanwhile, the other LBs at the club are pretty young and could do with regular games out on loan to aid in their progress, rather than sitting on bench/playing reserve team football.

Just asking: How many better LBs are there in the Premier League?

Coincidentally, just saw this on twitter:

José Enrique Won the ball in the defensive third of the pitch 127 times this season; the most in the PL despite only making 29 appearances

I don't understand that tbh. He had a lengthy spell out the side and came back in and played pretty well IMO. Quick decent passer scores the odd, goal and links well with Luis.... IMO one of best players this season.

I like him.

He appears to have recovered from the nightmare he became last season and he looks like a good team-spirit type and he has something nice going on with Suarez an' ting (football-wise, before anyone starts with the bottom sex jokes !).

Stay.

That's it in a nutshell for me.

I can't see an obvious reason for getting rid of him

I think because of his dip in form last year he's underated on here. He was struggling with injuries at the time. It would have to be a very good player to upgrade him imho, why bin him off when we have much more pressing areas to address - its madness I tell ye

BTW Enrique's hair at the moment is hilarious. As weird as he looked with a shaved head, I almost burst out laughing when I first saw a close-up of him on Sunday vs. QPR.

Currently he looks like a camp, Spanish, Elvis impersonator.

I always think he'd look great slumped down on a hot and dusty street corner, wearing a sombrero and blowing into a cider jug. He'd insist he hadn't seen whomever it was you were chasing, until you offered him some money, then he'd become animated and would point where you needed to go.

Somehow I think Rodgers doesn't really rate him all that much.

Normally, when Rodgers doesn't rate/like someone, they become persona non grata eg, Carroll, Skittles.

So, I can't say I agree, which means, I don't agree.
