For the first time in ages England have a good keeper.

If they stop selecting Brave John Terry and select someone based on performance and not reputation, the defense would be sorted (at least). A settled defense is important for a good show in major tournaments. So the sooner they do it, the better it is for England.

Fuck it subtlety was never my strong point (or modesty)..........I saw him play a few games for Shrewsbury about 2006 and posted on here that he'd go on to be England's best keeper.

I'd love to watch a game with Comolli just to hear his opinions on players, I'm far from convinced he knows his arse from his elbow and would love to know how he got to be so highly regarded as a talent spotter.

He's a fantastic shot stopper and that's what people mostly see when watching keepers. He deserves the plaudits he's getting at the moment but some people calling him the best keeper in the world are a bit OTT as he still has some weaknesses to his game too(his dealing with crosses can be a bit suspect for example). The good thing for him, City and England is that he is young and an extremely confident player who doesn't let small mistakes affect his game. Should be Englands number one for a long time.

Of course the other reason Hart looks so impressive is that compared to the other clowns England have selected in recent seasons - Robinson, Green, Carson, Kirkland, etc Hart can actually catch a ball.

I'm not even sure he is TBH. He picked some gems for Tottenham, but balanced them out with his fair share of duds too and they were noticeably unbothered when he left. His attraction for FSG was his interest in and knowledge of Moneyball.
