Re: Cole set to sign

I think Cole will combine well with the rest of the team to harvest some goals.

Absolutely brilliant signing.

What makes it brilliant? What makes him brilliant?

Re: Cole set to sign

Plus he's (deservedly) a big name player, which may help encourage others to stay/sign for us.

Torres was going to leave, then we signed an injury prone castoff with no reputation outside England. Now we've nothing to worry about.

That's the spirit!

Re: Cole set to sign

Kudos SG67, you've made me laugh a couple of times throughout this thread. I hope this is for real. I had set myself up for the absolute worst this summer, and whilst it could still be bad for us, this is a very positive first move by Roy.

I want to know how much we're paying him a week before I render a judgment.

Actually fuck it.

Here Chelsea, let's trade. We'll give you Yossi Benayoun, and take your cripple who scores less frequently in a similar position, thanks. B-b-b-b-but he's English.
[/quote]

Farky, Cole is a much. much better player than Yossi. Even if he was injured, he'd cripple around the pitch being better. And I like Yossi. Or liked.

I just don't see it, at all. It's not as if I haven't seen him play.

Re: Cole set to sign

Given our financial predicament, anyone who wouldn't welcome this signing would have to be a little bit mad. He'd be a better option for the wide positions than anyone we've had in years. Plus he's free. We would have to spend all of our reported transfer budget to acquire a player of similar ability. And even that would likely be a foreigner with 'potential'. This fella is a seasoned premiership performer. We'd be daft not to be in for him.

Re: Cole set to sign

Would be chuffed if Roy could pull this one off. Like somebody already said if we could pull in another top winger who knows...

Torres Jovanovic

Cole Gerrard Aqualini winger x

Figuerou Agger Carra Johnson

That would look very very good on paper 😀

Re: Cole set to sign

yeh, mascherano or whoever....still looks good on paper tho....thats of course if the deal goes ahead 😛

Re: Cole set to sign

Well, he can share the same room, I mean the same treatment table with Aquilani. Good signing though.

I wonder if Maxi will still be here next season.

It's remarkable how fast driving becomes completely natural.

Also, Titanic is aces. Last time I watched it was in Amsterdam, tripping on psychedelic truffles. I'm not sure I've ever been so emotionally invested in a movie.

Try watching Yellow Submarine on three really strong blotters.

"EEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . . . it's the Blue Meanies!! That glove thing is fucking terrifying!!"

*curls up in foetal position rocking furiously*

"Ahhhhhhhh . . . it's all okay, The Beatles are here and they're singing a song just for me!"

*rocks more serenely*

2001: A Space Odyssey on a pretty colossal level of mushrooms produced a near-death experience during the final chapter for me. Brilliant experience if a little unnerving.

Re: Cole set to sign

Can't see anything about this in any of the papers. God, I hope it's not just another case of Liverpool supporters deluding themselves with unfounded rumours...

Not really. Looks a bit soft in the middle and slow at CB.

I hope not. A bit strange for City to report it though without there being a shred of truth in it.

Interesting then, that Carlo Ancelotti doesn't share that view.

Sounds to me like just more rumors...

That's an incredibly simplistic way of looking at it. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Re: Cole set to sign

The Metro i'm just looking at now says Cole will turn down Liverpool and sign for Arsenal or Spurs. £115000 a week apparently.
