It is with a heavy heart that I leave Liverpool for a new life and new challenges in Spain. Both me and my family have fallen in love with this club and with the city.
"But most of all I have fallen in love with the incredible fans. You have always supported me and we, as a family, will never forget it, we will always be Liverpool supporters.
"I hope you can all understand why I have made this decision. This club did all they could to get me to stay, but playing and living in Spain, where my wife's family live, is a lifelong dream and ambition. I believe now the timing is right.
"I wish Brendan Rodgers and the team well for the future. The club is in great hands and I'm sure will be successful again next season.
"I am very proud I have played my part in helping to return Liverpool to the elite of the Premier League and in particular back into the Champions League.
"Thank you again for some great moments and memories. You'll Never Walk Alone."

Just fuck off - cunt - this sort of insincere lacrimose bollocks does my head in

Let's be honest, this was going to happen one way or another - with or without biting - because this was his dream, as it is for most of these kids coming out of South America.

Glad to put this behind us ... Hasta la vista baby.

Bye Luis. Our relationship was boss, but the cheating made me sad..... Good luck anyway. Ill be here when you need me!!

Thanks Luis. Fantastic talent, you always gave everything. You were a great example in training and attitude to the youngsters, and you gave us the extra year - so no grudges. You believe Barcelona/Real are bigger than Liverpool. I'm sorry for that and don't wish you success there, but I am very grateful for the years you had at Anfield. I hope we have another player as talented before I'm too much older.

Its a big ask to replace him, even with the 70 million. I do find the heavy heart bullshit a bit much he's wanted away for a good while but that said the way he played last season was far from a mercenary just going through the motions.

I'm gutted we wont see him in the CL for us and I think losing him just made it a lot lot harder for us to push for a title like last season but there is no denying he is mental and he did drag our name through the mud too often. I will choose to remember the sheer brilliance and determination and ignore the rest.

I won't wish him well not out of any spite for him, he was a fantastic player for us on the pitch and made us a huge wlecome profit, but because I only support LFC I hope he finds Barca to be a pile of shite.

As a side note I know Bony is quite good but I do hope we can sign somebody a bit special with the cash, not too impressed with scooping up Southampton and Swansea players tbh.

What difference does it make who they play for, if they've got what we need? We got Keegan from Scunthorpe for Heaven's sake.

Yeah yeah....that's true enough Jules I'm just saying that Bony isn't enough, I would be happier if we signed a top notch player and yes if they came with a big reputation and was an exciting signing all the better. Replacing the third best player in the world with a big(ish) player from a small club doesn't really fill me with confidence nor excitement.

The talk of Remy for example I find just baffling, I read Lawrenson saying we should buy him but I genuinely don't see it.... he has done next to fuck all since arriving on our shores so how in the world of fuck is he going to replace a player who shat goals??

I hope we show a little bit more ambition is all.

Yes. And as I've said many times, to zero enthusiasm, I'd add Ings to the squad if he wasn't priced at some silly price. We need more strikers, a varied range of strikers, and not all of them are at the world cup and in other leagues.

Molby: see what you're saying, but IMO we really need to leave behind any idea of "replacing" Suarez. Ain't gonna happen, not directly anyway - there are few if any better players in world football, and those who do exist aren't going anywhere. We (and everyone else) are shopping one level below that. Fortunately we've got enough cash to buy a fair few of those players. The task now is to get the right ones, and they might be found anywhere.

Edit: Ings is a very good example and I'd endorse macca's suggestion there.

A variety of strikers would certainly be one way of doing things or, as i suspect we may do, we may centre the team on Sturridge and buy quality attacking midfielders.

It's a worry losing a player of Luis's quality but by the same token it will be fascinating to see exactly what Rodgers comes up with in response.

I'm fully aware im saying all the wrong things and that you are dead right Jules.... I'm just stubborn.... I want a big fuck off signing, like a fat kid in a sweet shop with a tenner in his pocket...

It's obvious we cant replace him, not unless we sign Messi or Ronaldo!! And that's the problem for me, Luis was our superstar, aside from the goals and the brilliance I for one really fucking loved the fact that we had a superstar!!

I hope we can find someone who is exciting to watch.

8 oz of cola cubes and Fizz bombs PLUS 3 king sized mars bars.

I miss king size Mars bars almost as much as I'll miss that mad little fucker terrorising defenders for us next season.

Pity he did not join the Bundesliga (sp).
He would have enjoyed biting into the shoulder of Lahm 😉

Thanx Luis for taking us to the brink. It was one of the best seasons ever. Close but no cigar. CL is a great consolation though.
