Isco

In lack of a transfer/rumour thread, let me just add that if I had to chose between £70M Isco, whom I really like, or a £120M Frenkie de Jong from Ajax I would go with the latter.

Frenkie is oozing that exquisite quality and posses that special aura I believe/guess a player like Cruyf did too (before my time Cruyff but still from reports, articles and clips he was surely a rare sort).

De Jong floats around the pitch always in control, always aware of his next move, always the heartbeat of the team. He's a very, very talented player and I'm in total awe of his abilities and if you asked me to pick one player from Ajax right now and one player only I had to pick him even though my heart beats for Dolberg.. (Dolberg would be 2nd on my list when it comes to current players from the immense Ajax-team as of now, with de Ligt coming in a close 3rd).

Judging by the gossip columns, there is a death match between Barca and City for his services so not sure he's attainable for us.

Yeah me neither, but it's never the less a "death match" we should somehow try and get invovled in.. and we have already got two of his Dutch teammate in Virgil and Wijnaldum so maybe there's a way?

Isco is a wonderful player, but like James Rodrigues, Oscar or Ozil he suffers from being one of the best in the world in a position that is almost outdated in modern football – the classic #10 role. It's not easy to find a team who still play with 2 out-and-out strikers AND a #10 behind them; they are mostly in Italy nowadays and even there only a few.

A no. 10 stil works well with a 4231, as the one behind the main man. I don't think two strikers is needed.
I can certainly see James working well there, or they can rotate behind the striker.
It even works having a rather free role out wide in a 4 man midfield like ZZ did.
