If he fucks off, could we bring him back?

Rodgers and Markovic.

One thing that annoyed many on here last season was Rodgers complete misuse of Markovic (a theme he's sadly starting to repeat with Firmino), it's like Rodgers has a desire to play players out of position, as if it somehow proves he's more tactically aware, as if he can see potential in players others can't. Well clearly he can't, all he's doing is stunting the progression of talented players, and then using the resulting poor performances as a reason to fuck them off to Turkey.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to claim Markovic was the messiah, no where near. he has massive flaws, but there was clearly a lot more to come from him, despite appearing slight, the correct manager could help him play in this league, and he could turn into a great player. All I was wondering is, if we got a new manager, for arguments sake lets say Klopp, could you see Markovic getting a second chance?

I presume all players will return next preseason for a review. Rodgers will probably go before the season is out but I can't see Lazar's loan deal being cancelled. I presume he is there for a season long loan?

Depends whether or not there's a recall clause in the loan agreement. If there is, I'd imagine any new manager would want the option of looking at every player and making his own decision about them.

We should never have bought him. I said last season that we had two youngsters who (can) play in his position and are miles ahead of him in Sterling and Coutinho so what was the point?

But we did buy him so put that to one side... where should we have played him? He looked largely lost in most of the opportunities he was given last season and we were never going to be in a position to take the hit whilst he develops (if he actually does). A loan move was the right decision given the situation we found ourselves in, we just sent him to the wrong club. He needed to go to a lesser team in a better league where he'd have been guaranteed games and a starring role.

Fucking hell Markovic looks like Messi compared to Ibe this season -
If I didn't know better I would say Rodgers had been trying to destroy Markovic's confidence the way he kept playing him.

People were not worried Sterling left as we had the better player in Ibe. .. we have a lot of potential (should be more than enough to crush the siontologs)... but we have No idea on how to release the potential.

Never saw the fuss about Markovic, we massively overpaid and its clouding peoples judgement of him. Lets see what he can do with a year of consistent football under his belt. I think he will end up going for about half what we paid.

That might prove to be a bit of a problem.

I'm less convinced than you about that. When we signed him I had only seen him on video clips, but some of them were mighty impressive and Rodgers shuffled him around in various different positions, few (if any) of which reflected where he'd played before joining us. There's no question his time with us has been disappointing up till now, and - depending on the new manager's view of him - he may well end up leaving, but I reckon there *is* a player in there somewhere and I'm not going to write his future prospects off just yet.
