A total of 18 Liverpool players have been selected by their countries ahead of a busy round of international fixtures in the next fortnight.

Senior stars like Steven Gerrard, Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt will all be absent from Melwood, while a selection of youngsters will also depart to join up with various youth squads.

Raul Meireles (Portugal) - to play Cyprus on Sep 3 and Norway on Sep 7

Daniel Agger and Christian Poulsen (Denmark) - to play Austria on Sep 7

Martin Skrtel (Slovakia) - to play Macedonia on Sep 3 and Russia on Sep 7

Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina (Spain) - to play Liechtenstein on Sep 3 and Argentina on Sep 7

Spain refused Roys request aswell, so Fernando has to join up with the squad. To play a qualifier against the might Lichenstein.
