Hi All

Early in the morning of April 12th, 2012, six Liverpool fans will start a 70-mile run from Hillsborough, the home of Sheffield Wednesday, arriving at Anfield two days later on Saturday April 14th, just before the kick off of the game against Fulham. The run is in excess of 70 miles and will be split over two and half days, with 30 miles being run on successive days and the last 10+ miles run through the streets of Liverpool finishing at Anfield on the Saturday.

The aim is to raise funds for the families of the Hillsborough Disaster and keep the focus on the continuing quest for justice for the 96 victims.

The majority of the run will take place along the Trans-Pennine Trail and supporters and well-wishers will be very welcome at all stages.

We welcome all reds to visit our website http://hillsborough-anfieldrun.co.uk/

Happy New Year all.

Things are coming along nicely now, we're even getting much needed help with sponsors etc along the way.

If there is anything you feel you can contribute towards our run, we would love to hear from you. More details here http://hillsborough-anfieldrun.co.uk/sponsors/

If you haven't visited our website recently, we've been hard at work providing regular updates. Come and stop by and take a look http://hillsborough-anfieldrun.co.uk/

You should be seeing a lot of it in and around Liverpool soon (sorry about the size)

We need donations - no matter how small, please help http://hillsborough-anfieldrun.co.uk/how-to-donate/

Finally. Believe it or not, on some non-LFC forums I have been visiting to spread the word, I am continually being asked why we are still continuing the fight for justice, why don't we just let it drop.. My response? Read this, maybe this will educate the ignorant http://hopeforhillsboroughjustice.wordpress.com/the-witnesses/

The Hillsborough-Anfield Run team all met up in Liverpool on Sunday 29th January

The morning went really well, done some filming for Granada Reports then made our way to Calderstones park to do some more with LFCTV (will be shown sometime w/c 6th February), it was only a little bit cold!! 1pm and it was time for our meeting, we found out that Steve Rotherham MP would be attending. Steve, as you may recall, opened a debate in the House of Commons calling for all papers related to the Hillsborough Disaster to be made public, and for prime minister David Cameron to issue an apology for events leading up to and following the disaster

It was a real honour to have Steve attend, and also attending was

- Margaret Aspinall and Sue Roberts from the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG).
- Steve Kelly, Kenny Derbyshire and Debi Mcmillan from the Hillsborough Justice Campaign (HJC).

If we didn’t know before how important the run was, we sure did now! Moving forward we will all approach this in the most professional way and will look to raise as much money and awareness as is humanly possible for both groups and indeed the 96.

Donations at the time of writing are closing in on £700. Can we ask you guys to share our story on any blog, forum and website you have access to please, word of mouth is crucial to making sure we get as much support as we can.

Thanks all
