Higuain

Suarez was the complete player though. Its hard to find a roaming forward who can also lead the line.

I've raised this possibility a few times - Sterling is just so versatile, quick and deceptively strong, I wouldn't put it past him to step up a rank and lead the line in some games when Sturridge is absent and we need more pace up front in the centre. With the additional guys we have now (or are bringing in) at the AM and wide forward spots, it also means we're not robbing Peter to pay Paul when we shift him up in some games when needed.

His lack of height isn't necessarily a problem too - Aguero is just 3cm taller. Surely Sterling's haircut makes up for even that difference. After 2 years of playing with Suarez, he'd have picked up a trick or two about hanging on defenders' shoulders and killing them with a turn, a burst of speed and a bit of tricky mischief. And finishing his chances (he actually had a better goals to shots ratio in the box than Suarez and Sturridge, albeit with a lot fewer shots as the base).

I don't really like the idea of this signing. Ryan echoed my sentiments exactly. I think he'd be okay but not what people would hope or expect.

Draxler is a good shout.

Incidentally, when Ryan and Keniget agree on something (Keni is always right) chances are it's correct. When I also agree with that assertion it's the goddamn truth.

When Suarez goes it is not one of our strongest areas.

You could argue that it is if we go back to playing one up top.

I think that's the way to go, really. We sort of stumbled into having to play two strikers, and while it was a brilliant problem to have, it did mean having to fit the rest of the team around them to some extent. I think the easiest solution now is to buy a really good player to compete with Sturridge in the £20m or so bracket, and use the rest of the money to strengthen the rest of the squad.

Draxler and Reus are definitely the top of my list now that Sanchez is 100% gone. Unfortunately, they're next to impossible targets.

It annoys me when people talk about Reus, it's just pointless.

I'm not sure about Draxler, it seems like he's more achievable but what do I know.

What about that Korean at Leverkusen. Son Heung Min, I think? He seems to have a bit of everything, including a good scoring record from a wide forward position. I think he could be a definite contender.

Reus is impossible.

Draxler is the tier below that could be attainable, but for mega bucks and will most likely move to one of the top, top clubs in the world.

Good shout, I haven't seen a lot of him but Son looks pretty good

Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain has quashed speculation linking him with a move away from Napoli this summer.
In light of comments by Lionel Messi that Higuain would prove a good fit at Barcelona, the 26-year-old, who scored 17 goals for the Partenopei in Serie A last season, insists he is content with life in Italy.

"I am really grateful to Leo [Messi] for his kind words but I have a contract with Napoli that makes me very happy," he told www.tuttomercadoweb.com.
"The Partenopei club [Napoli] has always treated me very well since I arrived there."

As Hansern says, this doesn't necessarily mean he's staying, it could just mean that he's aware there's speculation but there doesn't appear to be anything concrete so he doesn't want to risk burning his bridges with the club and the fans.

In saying that, I wouldn't read anything into it unless someone reputable says we're in for him.

And what, I'm not always right??

Fuck keniget, the stepover-loving-fuck.

I watched him closely last night specifically because of this rumour, I must say, although he didn't have his best game, I was very impressed, linked up very well, skilful and not afraid to put himself about. I still worry that it would only strengthen one of our strongest areas though.
