I think he's got some way to go, but 6 goals and 8 assists (just in the league) in a team this short on attacking options, is far from meh.

Yeah, true that. I know, it's just I guess I've high expectations, I guess I'm expecting him to be the next Stevie in his prime, but he's never gonna be that.

it's alright news. hendo's good but it's a fucking terrible situation when he's one of your top players.

I'm stunned people are complaining about this apparent 100k a week contract for Henderson. Actually I really shouldn't be because there's a lot of people that just like to complain for the sake of it.

Me personally, I'm pretty happy we're keeping one of our best and most reliable performers in a squad littered with pussies. So here's to you Jordan Henderson.

It's a good bit of business. Let's see if Stirling (or his agent) ask for more money than the 'next' captain.

It's good news.

He's a good player, with a super attitude, can play 3 or 4 roles across the middle pretty well, and he's rarely injured.

Crazy money but par for the course these days. He deserves a decent contract as he's been one of our better performers.

However, he'll never be anywhere near Gerrard's level

Great news. He's really pushed on this season and become a creative force as well as an energiser Bunny. He is a natural leader and hopefully will feel empowered to kick his teammates into shape as he becomes the club captain.

Good. I thought he might and try and bum us for silly money like the other little silly moneygrabbing fucker.

Great news indeed. I hope you're right, but I just don't see him as a long-term captain - he's the perfect deputy though - loyal, hardworking and selfless. But a captain? Not sure.

Great news. I remember someone saying what does actually Henderson do.

Well, we win 54% of the games he plays in compared to 35% when he's not involved.
Most passes, most assists and most tackles this season. Chipped in with 7 goals so far aswell.

One of our most important players. Happy this is finally sorted.

Key player for us...

Hopefully you will see him flourish next season without Gerrard in the side..

You always get the feeling he is held back when playing alongside Gerrard...

Neither am I, though I've always been in Hendo's corner. Because his attitude is so professional he'll step up and do the job to an adequate standard when asked, but it doesn't seem to me to come naturally to him.

Yet another reason why character as well as ability has to be high on the priority list for our signings this summer.

Goals and assists from open play

Great player, potentially a great captain. He has conducted himself extremely well during this whole period (take note Sterling, you silly knob!).

If you watch him during a game, particularly if you are in the stadium and see the stuff the camera doesn't catch, he is constantly organising the players around him, and bawling at people who aren't in position. He's been doing that from well before he was captaining too. He's a captain.
