Has he lost the dressing room then ?

How can you support this football club and see what we've seen and not think supporters play a part. Our form in Europe is absurd and the supporters play a role in that.

I think in general, its been easier to be a completely defensive, ambitionless team at home this season. There's no supporters wanting you to try to win a game, and shithouse, unbelievably defensive teams with no interest in possession have not had to endure fans getting on their back, nor have they felt encouraged to go forward once they have a little passage of play. The emotional component of the game is removed.

That implies we can only play well if we play at home in front of a raucous crowd, which we know is false. It also ignores the fact that every team is in the same position, why is it just us falling apart?

What's the Liverpool way to deal with the worst home streak in the history of the club ?

Pretend it's not happening ?

I guess it would be to balance six straight home losses against two full seasons of sheer brilliance and realise which tips the scales. You're a bright lad, do the math.

Not every team is in the same position. Some teams don't have much of an atmosphere. Others produce 25% possession and their support isn't there to complain that they are paying good money to watch a training session.

I don't think it's the reason that we haven't done well, but it's one of many confounding ones. It benefited some teams and hurt others. Along with the dumb frequency of games its inarguable that it changed the state of play.

Blessing in disguise we didn't hand out improved contracts immediately then

[article]Liverpool stars will miss out on big financial bonuses should they fail to finish in the top four this season.

The Telegraph says Jurgen Klopp's squad were set to receive bumper deals when they signed their next contracts after delivering the club's first top-flight title in 30 years, but that could be scrapped if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League because it would leave a significant shortfall in the club's finances.

No player has extended their terms since winning the league and Liverpool are now down in eighth and in danger of missing out on a place in Europe's elite competition - which earned them £95million when they won it in 2019 - after suffering their sixth successive home defeat at the weekend to Fulham.

Some intermediaries fear Liverpool's remarkable title-winning season last term will be long forgotten when negotiating deals if they fail to finish in the top four.

A number of Liverpool stars, including Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are entering the final two years of their deals, which is when the club usually look to agree an extension.[/article]

If the club are going to be as "smart" with contract renegotiations as they have been with recent transfer activities then I fear some players will be tempted by the prospect of lucrative deals elsewhere
