He is taking up a non homegrown spot in the squad as well.
Maddening.
If we were that bothered by it then we could just register without him whilst keeping him at the club and bring on Pitaluga as 3rd choice which would free up that spot.

Or we just fuck him off and get someone who is not totally useless instead

As Klopp says not easy to play after days with 3 x sessions per day. Lost of tired minds and players.

Because he’s a 3rd choice keeper and no one really gives a shit about those…the only minutes he’ll get are in pre-season. Wouldn’t lose sleep over it Ibro!!!
Of course I lose sleep over it when Keheller is injury prone and Ally has missed games.

We got battered by Villa in the season we were defending the title with him in goal.

He also played in the game we lost our CL title (to Atletico Madrid) where we got smoked by them at home due to his calamities.

How many more games has the man got to cost us, when called upon, before we get rid?

Encouraging signs from Diaz. He seems to know he needs to improve this output and appears more direct sind runs return from injury.

Nunez showed some good composure with his finishing. The Salah and Nunez partnership continues to blossom but how you create a system that is better than Gakpo as a false 9 still lingers.

Relying on Matip and Gomez as back up is the stuff of lunacy.

The hope (for me at least), is that with the more mobile cms of Szob and Mac, there's less of a need for a false to open up space. Ideally mo can drift in and szob drifts wide, same o the other side for Mac and Diaz.

But yeah, we need cbs

I think many of you are too fixated on the second half. We outplayed them in the first half with 8-9 of our regular starters on the pitch.
No need to panic just yet.

But yeah, most of our back up's don't cut it any more and some are just shit.

Still 4 out of 11. 10 actually, cause where else is the keeper gonna be.
That's a lot, even 2 playing out of position is usually enough to completely mess things up as has proven to be the case under both Klopp & Rodgers.

First half was very good at times. Add in the 2nd halves attack and it'll be fine.

The worry is when the first string get injured, the drop off is huge

He's a shit keeper, I totally get it but I also get why we've signed him on a new deal....it gives us 1 less area we don't need to worry about, not that it's an area to worry about anyway.

Adrian was our #2 when Ali was missing 3-4 years ago, Kelleher has since taken the #2 and Ali's only missed like 2-3 games in 3 years & I don't recall Kelleher being injury prone? If we go even a game without being able to call on Ali or Kelleher then we got serious problems.

The combo of the two is where the real issues lie. Either plays pretty well alongside VVD. Matip better than Gomez. But, together, there is no leadership and they lacked Ali screaming from behind them.

I would sell one of them - preferably Gomez, except he is homegrown.

Alisson, Harvey, Gakpo & Nunez were the pick of a glorified training session.

Most were meh and a few were horrible - Adrian, Gomez, Matip & Tsimikas (the kids get passes for not being on it, but none really stood out).

Not that any of it means anything, but Trent was anonymous, as was Mac A.

I’d say Trent will revert to his RB position once the season starts properly, he’s just getting extended playing time in the centre to get used to moving in there during games.

It’s not as if not playing a RB during pre-season will make him any worse at defending.

Home grown and is an option at RB if TAA continues to refuse to try and defend.

As things stand after the first 2 preseason games - we’ve found our new DM and Midfielder - Trent & Gakpo.

I’m not too fused. A number of players looked in dreadful physical condition— Gomez looked as if he’s added three kilos and all of it on his arse— and this match is just part of getting them up to speed. That said, some seem to be way ahead; Jota, Diaz, Nuñez and the sprogs.
