Go Goetze him!

..haven't read the whole thread but Goetze would be a coup of the year style of signing.

I don't dare believe it before he's parading our famous red at Anfield.

This is a weird one, Bayern München met the buyout clause in April 2013, little more than a day before they faced Real Madrid in the Cl semi final. Klopp was pissed off with Götze, Guardiola and Bayern and didn't try to hide it, saying things like,"It could have been worse, they could have done it 4 hours before the semi-final", "I couldn't convince Götze to stay as he is a Guardiola favourite" and "It's my fault, what can I do, shrink myself 15 cm and start speaking Spanish?".
It'd be strange from Klopp to suddenly trust him and work with him again.
Götze could have stayed but went along with Bayern messing with Dortmunds team and morale mid season and on the way to a CL final against Bayern, seems like a back stabbing cunt.

Edit: Awaits "Woody In Speedos" memes.

I think the story goes (from Dortmund's point of view) that Goetze was basically told 'it's now or never' as far as the Bayern move goes. He was still really young, didn't want to move abroad, and Bayern were doing their usual fuck over the opposition in Germany thing.

If you had the choice of losing coutinho but getting Goetze or keeping Phil and missing out on Mario , what would you do ?

We could probably sell coutinho for more than we'd pay for gotze

That makes all kinds of sense to me

Not to me it doesn't. Coutinho's a known quantity in a Liverpool shirt, and the money we'd make (if any) won't be any use if Gotze doesn't work out.

Not if gotze isn't as good. There's no telling how he's gonna adjust to the premiership. We KNOW that coutinho suits us. No guarantees with gotze. Coutinho over gotze all the way for me.

Keep Coutinho, he's a wonderful player who's starting to reach his peak who's one of the pillars of our team. Goetze, whilst may be an equally wonderful player, has it all to prove.

Nah, I'd hate to lose Coutinho. He frustrates the hell out of me at times but he's a cracking little player. I love watching him play. In a hypothetical swap deal i'd stick with Coutinho. If we add Gotze into the mix, then fine but I wouldn't want it at the expense of our Phil.

Plus, Coutinho already has a boss song. 😉

You speak just like our transfer committee.

Does he? And when have our "transfer committee" sold a player that wasn't clearly, obviously desperate to leave?

They've never actually done what Fabio is suggesting - the cold-hearted analysis of one player's value and quality vs another, and the decision to replace one with another for both financial and playing reasons.

Not once.
