Rafael, Sagna, Ivanovic, Zabelletta to name 4.Out of interest, who would you say is a better RB than Johnson in the Premiership?

I agree with you about Johnson's negative aspects, but boy do we miss his work-rate and positioning (when we have the ball, of course) when he's not around. Its not really a myth though is it? Blaming him directly for goals conceded is occasionally exaggerated, but his concentration levels can be apalling for a player who should be at the peak of his game.
I wouldn't give him an extension until his contract is up.Give Glen an extention on the same pay packet unless Kelly and Wisdom improve dramatically to the point where he is playing second fiddle.
That's not very smart now is it? With 6 months left he can sign a pre-agreement and walk away for nothing.I wouldn't give him an extension until his contract is up.
We should be looking at grooming new talent. If someone comes in and plays great, we'd have 140k plus per week sitting on the bench with 2-3 years to go.That's not very smart now is it? With 6 months left he can sign a pre-agreement and walk away for nothing.
Come on now.

He was excellent last season
We have Kelly who is injury prone and Wisdom who is no fullback in the position. Both talented but hardly what we need. When we have a better RB then by all means, sell or don't renew his contract. We should be looking at grooming new talent. Don't think we can afford that.
Isn't that the point? The aim is to replace him within a couple of years, max, surely. So giving him an extension now wouldn't be the wisest move, mainly because of how much he's already earning. We have Kelly who is injury prone and Wisdom who is no fullback in the position. A 1 year extension wouldn't break the bank and would protect our investment should we get a better player in.Isn't that the point? The aim is to replace him within a couple of years, max, surely. Absolutely. Doubt he'd accept it though.A 1 year extension wouldn't break the bank and would protect our investment should we get a better player in.
Make the offer to hedge our bets, whether he accepts it or not is entirely up to him. After all, its not only about the player. The club has a vested interest.Absolutely. Doubt he'd accept it though.

I think this is the most logical point, give him a short contract and buy a young up and coming right back/invest our time in someone like McLaughlin.
