No, his wife is my wife's sister. So now he's out of the family basically.

Oh right. I always forget that possible combo.

Hang on, your wife's sister's husband is still called a brother in law?
I have never ever considered my wife's brother's wife as my 'sister in law'

Are you sure that's right?

As a side note, my mate calls his mother in law 'mum'. That's fucking weird isn't it?

He reckons it's dead common. I think it's really fucking odd.

I think that's right. Always considered it so.
Now he's just "that asshole" so it's a moot point really.

Guess it depends how close you are to them, really.

Great result, and a good controlled performance after a sloppy first half.
Keita and Ox taking their chance well, Lovren not so much.

Fabinho was fantastic.

It is weird but my ma used to do the same thing with my Grandma on my fathers side. Even more confusing is I call my in-laws 'A-jek and 'A ba' which is Vietnamese for Aunt and Uncle! 😱

it is, but the MIL being MUM is very "close"

That's very odd

My parents did it for their in-laws too ...
I would I guess if my in laws were ok with it, which they aren't really - so I use respectful nicknames.
My wife calls my rents by their names.
I think it may be a cultural thing but it seems that some people do, some people don't.
Who cares as long as they're nice in laws right? ;-)

You have nice in laws? Fuck.

Only messing, mine are pretty fucking sound actually. Most of the time. They don't drink enough for my liking, but I've gotten used to being considered an alcoholic, so it's all good now.

Well, I think we can all agree that that was yet another triumph of a match thread on 6CM!

A thorough as-it-happened analysis of match events, detailed discussion of key strategic and tactical adjustments made, and careful scrutiny of the players brought into the side and how they changed the dynamic of the team.

And no off-topic whimsy or silliness at all.

Bravo!

Well done LFC yaaay

years ago was teaching girl called Grainne.. I was nervous about pronouncing her name...Grain..ey??
Didn't see Niamh in the list.. though suppose that's a common one.

Worked with N Irish Guy Deaglan, who hated people spelling it Declan.
But actually his passport name was Colin? Or something.... Meaning son of?

Dreamy tried to go off topic once in the second half but got no traction. Poor Dreamy. Just doesnt understand what match threads are for.
