Fulham match thread

All about points and we got three of them - bloody superb!

More than three points imo, it's the kind of win that will bond the team and have them truly believe, like when Mignolet saved those two points in that first game against Stoke to set the season up nicely. If we do the impossible, the season DVD will be bloody phenomenal!

When's the last time we won a game after conceding the first goal? Disregarding the latest win of course.

Well, a year ago, we'd have lost this match or, at best, drawn it. But that was an outstanding fightback. I'll sleep well tonight but when, though?

By the way, with a half-way decent centre-half pairing we'd have walked this league. Easily.

Fucking hell I couldn't cope with that penalty there. Massive massive win. Like I said, if we won that it would be massive for moral and character building. This match thread is proof that the anti-jinx is real.

I haven't commented in this thread on purpose but just popped in to say there are some miserable fuckers on this site.

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE

Couldn't agree more - some of the guff posted was pathetic.

Was going to slag them but I like your way better.

Has anyone managed to cadge some highlighty type packages yet?? It wasnt on here at 3am last night so I didnt get to see any of it..

Just to comment on the jinx myth. I backed us to win at five to one when we went 2-1 down.

Suck it.

So we're back winning the league after "we're gonna come fifth after 35mins"

Exactly, as Piedro alluded to, some posters need to get a grip, swallow some concrete and harden up. Defeatist morons.

As for the game - what a match. Can only think of United and Villa in 2009 - this game had such a similar feel about it. Fulham played to their plan perfectly and nearly got maximum reward. We were leaving massive spaces between our back four and the midfield who weren't picking up the knock downs from Bent and leaving us vulnerable. But for the first time in close to decade this LFC team decided not to wait and fight another day - today was the day.

Coutinho probed, ran, tackled and worked his butt off.

Suarez was looking for a goal from anywhere - he didn't care if he scored it or if someone else did. Loved the way he hustled the ball and his team mates back for the restart after Coutinho's effort.

Sturridge was pretty quiet but loved the fact that he still caused such problems.

Would love to see the distance Henderson covered - must be up there with the most ever in a football game.

Gerrard!! What can I say that wouldn't lessen his value? The pass for Sturridge should have gotten a bonus goal - it was better than a goal and possibly even better than the one he played for Risse all those years ago against Arsenal. The pen was up there - an utterly sensational strike under enormous pressure. Anyone wondering if the players believe just needs to see the captains response to scoring that one. Felt like a season defining moment.

Eh? Is that you agreeing with me or highlighting me as one Wizardry's "morons"? If so, I still stand by that. We desperately need to sort out the defence and our away form or we won't be winning anything. Or we could just live in cuckoo land and pretend we can actually win every game with Toure and Cissokho at the back.

(the quote thing doesn't seem to be working. That's aimed at IGotALuvlyBunchOfCoconuts' post)
