Man City match thread

Although, fwiw I'm not moaning, fuck all we can do about the fact half our players are pussies who shit out when it matters, beating these cunts tonight would be bittersweet, but better than just bitter.

Somewhat proves that we have a shitload of players who can't handle the big occasion.

We bottled every must win match under Rodgers, I suggest it's the mentality of many of these players that causes the capitulation when it matters most.

We need a real leader and fighter on the pitch. Suarez had an amazing attitude, and whilst we will probably never see his footballing quality again, it would great to get a top player with his attitude and mental strength.

Good game so far. We're not giving City any time on the ball and our attack started finding space during the later part of the half.

Really didn't give the team much of a chance at the start of the game, happy to be wrong.

Lallana didn't do enough in the beginning but ended the half as MOM. Credit where it's due.

Two good goals here.

This side looking much better than the one at the weekend.

I think part of the reason is that City are not able to close down as hard or quickly as they did in the first half against us in the cup final. Not sure if it's tactical on Pellegrini's part or if it's the fresher legs in our side that explains this, but the front four are getting a lot more space in this game.

Yea, or its just two games, and we're performing well in this one with a really inconsistent, not very good team, against a team that should knock shit out of us on paper, but is less consistently motivated?

Erm...I think the issue is that Klopp and his players know what he wants from a tactical and fearsome work rate perspective, but they don't do it consistently for a really depressing reason: they aren't good enough, so can't.

3 things that separate the final from this game.

  1. We're at home.
  2. We lost and are now more motivated to get the win.
  3. We have a fresher team. Sure it's worse than City's team skill wise but meh I needed a third point. Let's assume that they're jaded.

Henderson is so fucking average

Can and Milner have been decent though
He has regressed this season, could be the injury could be something else.
But he's very replaceable atm. Think that armband is doing more to keep him in the team than he is.

The other day someone, was it FFF? was talking about how we need someone in midfield who can really stamp authority on a game, and the fact that everyone wrote off our captain in that role, for me, says it all. He is a decent football, and when on song his passing range is the best in our midfield, but he shows no game intelligence and makes up for it with good endurance and athleticism.

Kevin Stewart.

Valid also, but I stick to my original point, really good players are consistently good, that's what makes them good.

When I was a kid I used to really admire the players, like full-on role-models.
Flanagan is probably the only one I have similar feelings for nowadays.

First person to moan that we couldn't do it on the big occasion is a bellend.

Haha! Poor penalties aside I dont think the match on Sunday was anything like the previous games like the Villa semi final. We looked up for it and fought our way back into the game, that wouldnt have happened under the old regime.

Yeah, it seems as if modern armchair experts view tackling as some kind of déclassé, last-ditch sign of desperation, that really quality footballers don't need to resort to.

Those people are, obviously, cunts.

I love seeing Liverpool players smashing the fuck out of the opposition

I think the more Flanno attempts to sprint, the more time stands still, and if we play him enough, it will ultimately go backwards to a time where we weren't shit.

You know what we miss? A freaking poacher in the box, like Garcia.
No one is connecting with our crosses.
