Putting Coutinho in this midfield role is a stroke of genius. He just creates chance after chance. Everytime he goes goal side he sees a pass and he executes it. It's pre season but he's bang on form.

With a strong defensive mid providing the steel and we will have one hell of a midfield.

Genius? I've been banging on about this for the last 3 years!

Modo said it 4 years ago... And people called him a chump(not really).

4 years ago was too early IMO (you can claim Nostradamus points though, if you desire) – Phil was too lightweight and inconsistent for the middle and remember the time when he couldn't shoot? Many attacking players develop a shot later in their career. Anyway, I think this season he's is definitely ready and as I wrote here we should build around him by first sticking him in his ideal position (which everyone kind of knows by now – kind of a deep-lying roaming playmaker who sometimes drifts to the wing) and moving other pieces around to maximize his impact.

All of this will be a moot point if he wears a Barca shirt next season, of course...

Yeah, I just saw it as a natural progression for him. During those days he wasn't ready.

Solanke looks too good to not be involved with the first team regularly this season

Gini Wijnaldum scored away from home. This is definetly our year!

I don't really get all this "he never scores away" shtick. Maybe I'm wrong, but but I don't see it as anything more than a coincidence as he's scored just as often away as at home back Holland.

Me neither mate, never gave it much thought to be honest. His contribution has never been questioned from my point of view.

So more of the same then, good going forward but shaky as shit at the back

Are you talking about the same lass?

Seriously? How was that shit at the back? They hardly created anything at all, and if they har dared to push harder we would had even more than we got forward.

You really should read Klopps comments. They played the game after trippel and double sessions, after loads of traveling, on purpose. To see how the players reacted under such circumstances.
They also let the fullbacks defend on their own to test them, without much help from the wingers/midfielders. That was also planned.

As usual, no point in trying to find to much to bitch about in pre season.
Given its: Pre. Season.

With respect I do think you're wrong. He showed the same tendency to disappear in away games when he was at Newcastle, which IMO is a better comparison. I like the guy and at his best he undoubtedly helps us play better, but his best isn't seen as often in away games, not yet anyway.
