Will he believe again?

Who would say no know?

He's done fantastically well to turn his career around since leaving Utd a laughing stock.

Golden ball now to add to his collection.

Amazing considering he played for a team who didn't make the final.

I never liked him for whatever reason, but now after the WC I see the light. Quality, quality player.

He played the same amount of games as the finalists.
Great player. Would like him but he'd probably cost too much especially that he's now in his 30's.

Turning 30 doesn't add price value to any player.

I would say no, due to him being an ex-manc cunt.
[/quote]

Oh come on. His career and reputation were not made at Manchester.

If he came to Liverpool and did well, it would grate with them, and be fantastic.

He's a wonderful player, and his game has kept improving until he's now right at the height of his powers. We can't afford to buy players in that position at his level right now, but if we did get him for some reason, you'd be a fool to say no.

Amazing turnaround from his UTD days..

If someone had of told me a few years back, he's be a world cup sensation, I'd have laughed.

Life is a funny ole potato(e).

Think he means we cant afford that kind of money on older players.

To be fair he's been a La Liga sensation since moving there 4 years ago.

Avemon understands me. ^_^

To be fair I was becoming convinced of his quality for those games in the UEFA cup, but he's ben absolutely fantastic. He's a very, very clever player.

His price will have sky rocketed now, so its a no go for us.
I think he's a bit like Bent, in the fact he needs to be playing week in week out for you to see the best out of him, something I think we could offer him.

He always had the potential at the scum though, ferguson just never gave him a shot! Also he really wasnt the type of player that RVN could play with and Ruudy boy was the main man at old trafford at the time!

I'm not sure to what extent the World Cup has inflated his price. It was prohibitively high anyways (particularly for a 31 year old) given that he cost A.Madrid in excess of 20M and he's been the La Liga top scorer as well as European top scorer a couple times.

The work horse forward Asamoah Gyan was being priced at 20m. Thats how much a world cup can inflate a players price.

We bought him before the competition started

Some are under the impression that Forlan produced this form out of the blue. He has been a constant performers in La Liga with the last 4-5 years, winning the pichici (sp?) at least 3 times.

In a tabloid. Has he been signed for 20M yet?

As for Forlan, who is going to sign him for 40M or whatever the WC has inflated his price to?

Citeh would certainly try if Mancini identified him as a target.

What was that? Benitez wanted Forlan ahead of Torres?? Seems unlikely

He was rumoured to be one of Benitez's back-up options should the Torres bid fail. I think.

Oh okay. Fair enough.

It would have been worse. Torres is better than Forlan.
