All your arguments are invalid.
To be fair that was a wonderful bit of skill.. He was superb that night... He just doesn't do it consistently enough for my liking..

Its a theme that rings through all our Brazilians..

Much improved today. A lot more direct

Was good today. Strong on the ball and took up smart positions. Obvs won the pen and would've added an assist to his name had Phil scored from that great chance. He still lost the ball a bit too cheaply at times though.

He was good today. Made the right decisions in the important 'moments', worked hard, set up chances for everyone around him.

Didn't score or look likely to, though.

He was great today. Finally showed some goal threat, and used the space that the brilliant runs of Lallana, Mane and Sturridge provided.

Should never play as the lone striker, but supporting a quality finisher and top striker like Sturridge he looks far more dangerous.

Of course, he needs to keep up this level of consistency and goal scoring, which he struggled with last season. Two goals in 4 Premiership games is a good ratio and he needs to keep it near one in two or three, because he didn't score enough last season for a forward.

I hope he can maintain this and make himself undroppable.

So he hasn't said that Firmino's crap this season?
Also he wasn't crap last season.

Dunno. And to tell you the truth I'm not that arsed. Especially when someone who thinks Lucas is great pulls someone else up on their opinion.

The main narrative was that he wasn't suited or good enough to play as the lone striker in the league, or be the main attacking threat, because he wasn't quick enough, and didn't score enough goals.

And before this game, he hadn't scored any. So far, so right.

Amazingly, when Sturridge started as the striker, allowing Firmino to play a more supporting role, as I had suggested and wanted all along, he was excellent, and finally scored and looked dangerous.

What he has to do now is show this level on a consistent basis, which again, he has never done for Liverpool. If he can, everyone will be happy.

I don't really understand where you're going with this, unless you're just saying 'you were right' in a really weird fashion.

But then you are really weird, so maybe that's it

Just a sample from this season.

The test of any top quality CB. Trying to stop Firmino

Firmino (2) I fear this flabby, pointless melt is going to be another of those players that some bellends desperately - endlessly - try and convince everyone is actually great, until years of everyone's time has been wasted. I even saw some cunt from one of the more 'prominent' blogs or websites or whatever, almost try and make a case for him being Man Of The Match against Arsenal! As if it wasn't very obviously Mane or Coutinho! Anyway, he was fucking abysmal here; slow as fuck, wasteful and utterly lacking in any kind of attacking threat. One of the worst displays from a Liverpool attacking player I have ever seen.

I sometimes think that I'm the only Liverpool fan on Earth who doesn't think Firmino is great.

Sorry - Firmino wasn't 'shit' last year. The 1st half was with a team in distress under Rodgers, where he wasn't fully fit and was struggling to get a run of games. He scored something like 10 goals in 31 games last year in the league - that's not too bad. Yes, sometimes he over complicates things, but he's ideal for Klopp imo - very good stamina, always takes up good positions, and constantly finds himself in the box in dangerous positions. I can seem him scoring 15-20 goals this season in the league.

This. But Brendan is right about his incosistency though. Thats been his biggest problem. He was far from crap last year mind. Thats obvioulsy just wrong.

Whilst you're obviously right on this matter, this paragraph makes you sound like you've been touched by Mourinho's God Complex.

Today was the best he has played through-out the game, but he still has that thing about him where he spends too much time on the ball and only to lose it. But his first touch today, and sense of positioning was outstanding. Not his biggest fan but I think he performed that well because of Studge

Well, last season Firmino also had some anonymous performances in the #10 role as well – although having to play behind Benteke as opposed to Sturridge might have had something to do with it. Or maybe it was just his own inconsistency that had nothing to do with position.

BTW I don't agree with @dmishra that Firmino and Sturridge have no chemistry as a partnership – they are getting better at it and the first goal is proof.
