Firmino

He's got the quality. We saw that against City so tonight should come as no real surprise. He's performed poorly since he came here but there's clear talent there and I'm more optimistic than most by him. I much rather him play as a striker than an attacking midfield where he often looks lists. It's frustrating because I think he could link up excellently with Coutinho and Sturridge similarly to Suarez. On paper it's sexy as fuck, but we may never see it.

Two very well-taken goals, but the 3rd he almost scored in the first half (after controlling the ball in mid-air and swiveling around to shoot with his left) would have been one of the goals of the season had it gone in. Keep it up, Roberto, you're starting to come good!

He turns up for the big games and scores,, which is more than Suarez did [emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji33]

Seriously we need to see more of that.. Next up UTD... He needs to turn up for that one aswell... They are there for the taking...

I said from day one he should/would play as a striker, but he would benefit greatly if one of the other two advanced roles were occupied by someone who scores goals.

I doubt he will ever be able to deliver in England on any consistent level. He is, as Brendan said, a poor mans Suarez.

I can't wait for this Lad to prove me wrong though.

And obviously lovely goals and more of that please.

Firmino seems to thrive when we play the "false number 9" tactic which I believe we also did at Man City which was his other outstanding perfomance so far.

Any other tactic and he seems to have difficulty getting into the game.

Doc: yes, the kind of performance he produced quite regularly in the Bundesliga. Given that performance and the fact that he's had just half a season here (rather less than that under his new manager, who knows him already and with whom he'll be able to communicate better than with the last one), writing him off as some are still doing seems nuts to me.

Couldn't we just tell him he's playing as a "false 9" and just play an actual 9 in front of him?

Yeah he was boss last night. Hopefully he'll carry on like that, we desperately need that kind of quality and before the match I doubted anyone of them had it

Looking at it again, I think Klopp would've enjoyed the construction of our first goal the most. 6 players were involved in building up the goal, though only 4 players touched the ball - Can, Sakho and Moreno pressured the Arsenal player into a bad pass which Henderson intercepted and quickly spread out to Milner, who relayed it to Can, whose shot then led to Firmino's goal.

10 seconds transpired between the moment the Gunner got the ball in their box and tried to break out, and the ball hitting the net.

What more could you ask for against Norwich?

Worked harder than anyone else on the pitch and bagged two.

His decision making was questionable once or twice but so far so good in 2016 for firmino

Gorgeous touch for the second goal yesterday. He needs to change his 'gun' goal celebration, that's an accidental bad taste controversy waiting to happen.

I'm amazed that not more is being made of him, he's been very good the last few games, his two goals and that assist for Henderson yesterday were top drawer.

Hendersonz assist for firmino was better.

He doesn't look comfortable still, I think he could be lethal behind origi, sturridge or even benteke

He has looked very poor playing behind Benteke. In fact he has looked excellent or at least decent in pretty much every game, except those games he was paired up with Benteke.

This was a an absolutely excellent performance. A couple of goals, but on top of that he stitched together almost all of our attacking play. I'm starting think the real Firmino is now operational.

His touch for Henderson's goal.

My loins my loins, what a fucking touch. Somebody go find a gif of that thing so I can re-blow my load all over again.

Henderson didn't assist Firmino yesterday did he? You're thinking of Lallana perhaps? For his 2nd goal.

Looking at the video above of his performance I'm really impressed how well he linked with almost all of our attackers - Henderson, Lallana, Milner, Moreno, Clyne and even once with Benteke. He was integral to everything positive we did yesterday.

Very encouraging performance.

I loved his 2nd goal. Absolutely loved it. Give me a cool, controlled, nonchalant finish over a 25 yard belter any day. That Sturridge shithouse is boss at them too.
