If he gets convicted, he would have to declare that when post Brexit he needs a Schengen Visa to play in Europe. He may never get one because of this

I'm surprised the Greek police didn't try to break up the fight by tear gassing them.

If the Greeks are smart about how they play this situation, they can threaten a couple of years in jail, this will bring the club to the table, and then they can extort a panic settlement which will keep the country afloat for another year.

Attempting to bribe a police officer, if there's evidence for it, is pretty serious you'd think. It's also dripping with a sense of colonial superiority that will not go down well. He wouldn't try and tuck a few twenties down Plod's shirt in the UK.

Greek police said in a statement officers had tried to break up an altercation between two groups outside a bar and that the three foreigners had then verbally abused and assaulted one of the officers.
The statement claimed that after arriving at Mykonos police station, the three arrested individuals then "strongly resisted, pushing and hitting three police officers" and that "one of the detainees tried to offer money so that the trial against them would not be completed".
The police say a file has been opened which includes accusations of "violence against officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an official".
It is not known specifically what Maguire has been accused of.
