They used to have a club captain and a team captain. Makes sense in many ways. Captain duties off the pitch are downright exhausting and you need to be extraordinary to make it all work. Being a captain on the field means being focused, aggressive and competitive. We seem to have bred the latter. Gerrard was excellent off the pitch as captain, not at all to my taste on the pitch. Hendo has been brilliant off the pitch, but, as many have noted, not up to it on the pitch. VVD would be a good on the pitch captain IMHO.

As for Fabinho - I've not seen much of him but after watching the clips I wondered how he heck this guy isn't going to the world cup. Good PR move to announce it now. Keep it up!

He looks like more than a capable replacement of Coutinho and Can. A De Gea type of Goalie and another one or two more classy CB/Forward each it will be like wow! Then, I am more than willing to be conscripted to be a Bumbledorian.
 
A Brazilian that speaks English already before he joins. Good. And his wife will not force him to Spain. Better. And not being in world cup gives us plenty of time to work on his role. Perfect.
 
Am I right in thinking Didi Hammann wasn't a regular fixture in the German side when we signed him?

I think supporting her husband. However she was watching the 'UCL' final, and stated 'redsssss' as per @RedNinja pic near the top. Obviously things were advanced at that stage.

Still, she seems a good sort. Leaving the french riveria and Monaco for Liverpool AND she seems happy. Love it.

Same happened with Bobby if I remember correctly. Utd linked for months and months. Then blammo!! Signs for us without barely a passing rumour.

I really like how Klopp describes him as a player with a great persona too off the pitch. And he does look absolutely splendid on it too, and more or less exactly what we have been craving for years in midfield. A calm powerhouse with flair and skill.

Very exciting signing indeed.
