What do you mean?
About what?
Letting a vital player leave with a bare basic replacement plan. I know a lot of you don't rate Fabinho anymore (wrongly imo), but letting him go, and talking about an unproven but promising DM who wasn't even the mainstay of a relegated side as his replacement is just dickhead material. We all know that in reality this means more time with Hendo at DM next season, and as much as I love him, this is also dickhead material. Only reason we should sell Fabinho is if we have a top top quality replacement waiting, not just a very promising youngster, anything else is well, dickhead territory.

Klopp wouldnt sell Fabinho without a plan in regards to replacing him. It wont be a kid and it wont be Hendo.

I personally didn't have anything against him starting this season, but it's not everyday we get offered £40 mill for a 30 year old player.
And I definitely don't want Hendo in the DM role.

Yeah, I was prepared to give Fabs another season to see if he could reclaim his form. But this is a "limited time only" offer and I'm kinda feeling a bit of FOMO if we don't take advantage.

I don't particularly care about winning the transfer market, and unless something changes drastically and we're linked with a more than capable replacement that's all this sale will be, it'll be a case of 'at least we got value when we could' it won't be a case of using his sale to better the team. I'll be brutally honest, I don't care if FSG get a decent wedge from this sale, rich cunts are already rich enough, I care about the state of our first team, and nothing about what's been reported about this sale suggests we'll be stronger as a result. Hopefully I'm wrong and we have an ace up our sleeves, but if this sale goes through and we bring in that Southampton kid, I guarantee this forum will be full of posts about how we let Fabinho go too soon come October.

That’s quite likely to happen sadly. Unless we get a top notch replacement and all three mids hit the ground running.

29. 40m is not a lot for the gap it leaves.

Mystic, if we get any DM capable player that is physically developed - it will be an improvement on Fabinho of the last 18 months. He has been a human cone in that period. Whoever we get even if inexperienced will learn quickly about any positional defficiency in their game with Virgil and Alisson behind them

30 years old 2 months into the season
Some would say a players prime us 27-30.

He’s got a good 2/3 years left at the very top.
Like most of the squad he was fucked last year.
We are not going to get anywhere near the required level needed in a replacement for 40m.
It’s like everyone is playing championship manager. We’ve essential shipped out the majority of our CM and cover in one window. Madness.

Madness we brought on ourselves. No one wanted to do it like this, I bet the club didn't think it was ideal either. But we screwed ourselves by not buying two midfielders last summer, while letting three go for free this summer.
We don't have the same spending power our rivals have and we've already spent £100 mill on two midfielders this summer. What options do we have?
Yeah we keep Fabs and hope for a great season and the same amount next summer or do what we just did.
I think we made the best out of a shitty situation.
