F1 2025

Really exciting season coming up. I haven’t looked forward to one as much as this for a long time.

Feels like Ferrari & McLaren will be the cars to beat, which will be fun with all 4 drivers capable of winning and who knows if there will be any team orders in Team Papaya, at least at the start?!

So many rookies joining. Antonelli & Lawson in quick cats will be good to see possible future contenders mixing it.

A new British driver on the grid in Oliver Bearman.

George Russell coming in as a lead driver, will his ego fit in his helmet?

Then always Max, he didn’t have a great testing so really interesting to see how RB starts the season. I’m predicting they’ll be 3rd / 4th after a few races then it’s a question of which teams will keep investing into this car versus next year.

Who’s going to be watching?

Superb Sunday coming up next week: f1 in the morning, cup final in the afternoon.

I think Max will win again even though I’m team Piastri for 2025.

There’s not much between the drivers at McLaren and Ferrari. Whereas MAx will destroy Lawson. LeClerc and Hamilton will share wins as will Norris and Piastri.

I’m glad they are enforcing 2 pit stops at Monaco which needs something to mix it up. Even with future changes, the cars are way too big for the track and ruins any kind of spectacle.

I have a feeling the Leclerc will win this year. I just see him coming in a bit like an underdog in what i expect to be the quickest rig.

McLaren will be rapid and it’s kinda in their interest to go full Norris mode but Piastri is too quick and improving too quickly for that to be something that lands well

McLarens look strong and will definitely be the team to beat. Redbull crying already about the Ferrari and McLaren cars, boots on the other foot eh

All the safe money says Max walks it again.

Hamilton will be little better, if at all, on the track than Sainz.

McClaren probably take the constructors as they have the all round best outfit cars/driver pairing/reliability.

I'm excited to see what Bearman and Lawson can do.

I'm hoping Williams have a strong year, too. I like Vowles as a principle and Sainz has been dealt a bad hand, so I'm hoping they can get some podiums and further progress.

Let's face it, they need to do something to make F1 more exciting. I used to watch it about 25 years ago but I only give it a passing glance now and again.

The technology is there for augmented reality and mario kart style weapons. Let the drivers go through spinning AR boxes so they can pick up some weapons. Hit someone with a green shell and their car slows down 2% for five seconds.

Some say that Max already does this

Max to win would be amazing again. I just have this feeling they’ll start slightly behind and then use their development advantage from last seasons finish to plough focus into next season’s car whilst Ferrari & McLaren focus on this one. Particularly McLaren.

Whilst I’ve never boarded the Lewis Hamilton hype train it would be one of sport’s great storylines if he won at Ferrari

As much as it will be, I think LeClerc is Ferrari’s man. They’ve invested so much into him that he will get those tight calls.

No it wouldn't. I hate drivers dominating. And even more so when 2 of those titles have a big * beside them.

Hoping anyone but Max.

McLaren really were sandbagging all the way to the end there huh? Risky.. ballsy.. very ballsy.. paid off though. The rest of the teams are left scratching their heads.

I’ve not read any of the post quali press but there could be some games at play. With the predicted downpour tomorrow some of the set ups could be dry for quali and some for draggier wet race conditions.

Well that race could be summed up as
Laps 0-2 exciting
DULL fast forward to lap 41ish
Very exciting 6 or 7 laps.
Then fast forward to last 5 laps.

The fact it was first race of the season and a crack of dawn viewing probably made it more exciting than it was for me. Although my wife loves Williams so that helped the mood.

Felt sorry for Oscar that he was told not to race for the entire time he was within DRS and then told he could race again after he dropped back. Proper gaslighting stuff there. Either let them race or say it how it is.

Also felt more sorry for Lawson being left out too long on slicks when it was raining.

There's some drama over the McClaren rear wing and mini DRS, so it'll be interesting to see what happens there. Finishing 1-2 in qualifying, and only really to be denied a 1-2 in the race because of freak downpour, is further indication that car remains ahead of the pack. Red Bull have plenty of work to do, but it looks like Newey stepping back over the years, and now for good, may be having an effect. Their car hasn't kicked on over the winter. Is there new regs in 2026? If so manufacturers will be putting most of their development and resources into 2026, so I'd wager there is less gains will happen throughout the year, but fingers crossed the gap between McClaren and Ferrari and Red Bull closes up a bit otherwise it could very dreary at the top.

Antonelli was brilliant. A rookie couldn't ask for a tougher first race and just getting round was impressive enough, but getting his elbows out and racing showed why Wolfe must have such faith in him. I was a little surprised they went for him because by all accounts his F2 career wasn't as impressive as most expected, but they most see Max level potential in him. Promising start.

Flawless performance from Piastri. Other than the Dolan/Hadjar incident that was another snorefest. Eeking out one stop and lack of safety cars preventing full throttle racing.

Yeah, I regretted getting out of bed for that one. It feels like whichever McClaren driver puts in the best qualifying performances in the first half of the year will have a huge advantage at taking the title. We saw how finishing second in qual dented Norris's chances as he was second priority in pitstops and came out in traffic and that will only be replicated throughout the season. I just hope they don't have a subjective preference to Norris and Piastri gets a fair shot. He looks just as much a potential world champion as anyone else I've seen. It's a delicate act balancing the drivers, but prioritising whoever has the best qual result seems the fairest way to manage it, unless a significant points gap grows between the drivers. The media do love making a song and dance about this, but most teams would kill to have their lineup

McClaren seem to have found a way to reduce tire-deg in ways their rivals haven't yet. They'll no doubt be some scrutiny and appeals coming from the likes of RB/Ferrari to prevent the McLaren car storming off into the distance. They have a clear path to taking the constructors again, although Ferrari might keep it interesting. RB look to have fucked up yet another driver decision. It's hard to gage how good the car is given the extremities of experience and skill of their drivers, but it's definitely nowhere near a dominant one and could well be the third or fourth fastest on the grid.

In the worst kept secret of all time, Yuki to drive for Red Bull from Japan. Lawson to Racing Bulls. The move was too soon for Liam and I think everyone knew it.

Lawson will still pick up lots of points in what looks like a very good car.

I think Norris will be a little worried about Oscar. In Australia Piastri was catching him and only for luck when both went off and Piastri coming off worse he stayed ahead.
