England VS Germany

There's nothing he can do about getting outpaced, but he could have at least tried to force him wide/out muscle him etc. Instead he decided to do nothing.

To be honest, I'd be furious with Johnson for not fouling Schweinsteiger (3rd goal) and Barry for not fouling Ozil (4th goal).

Just take the card.

Is it just me or does Gareth Barry look fat? Lampard seemed almost sylph-like in comparison.

Higuain's a bit of a porker too, actually.

What's going on with these footballers?
I've been saying that all along (to my family) about Barry; fat. I thought it was probably just a shirt style, or soemthing, that didn't suit him as no-one anywhere had mentioned it. So, I'm pleased (if that's the right word) I wasn't imagining it.

When upson scores and does that 'come on' he looks like the guy from dead mans shoes.
Aha, i was saying that earlier.

I'm pretty sure Upson thought that his dead brother was defending or something earlier anyway.

thank FUCK the reign of crapello will come to an end. fucking clueless cunt.

* plays englands best player on the left
* partners rooney with a goal hanger when he (rooney) has played all season up front on his own.
* plays lampard despite doing fuck all for two world cups
* leave adam johnson at home when the team was crying out for width
* playing heskey despite his club not giving him a sniff all season
* no joe cole despite the team crying out for creativity
* team announced two hours before kick off, who is this helping exactly? not us that's for fucking sure.
and so on and so on, FUCK OFF crapello!
Neil ffs take the rose tinted spectacles off

By 'us' I mean Liverpool!

oh, and barry is a fucking clueless fucker

a) fuck up 1
lampard shoots at the wall, terry and upson have come upfield incase lampard for ONCE is going to cross rather than shoot so barry KNEW there was little to no cover behind him, so what does he do when presented with two german defenders? he tries to take them both on/slide in a pass. cue germany snatching the ball off him and running up the field with no england players to challenge the counter attack. fucking idiot.

b) fuck up 2
ozil is isolated with barry with most of england out of position up field so instead of taking a yellow he lets the german midfielder glide past him and center. fucking clueless bastard!

Correct Gene. Take the fucking card.
Thank you. There's no way Mascherano, for example, would have let Ozil get past him. He would have just rugby tackled him if he had to.

Faulty premise, Mascherano would have already received a red when reacting to the disallowed goal.

I thought so too, Gary Barry must of been drinking bacon grease and gravy the whole time he was out injured.

My sympathies,lads..

It was a hard game to watch,Lampards goal being disallowed was a travesty, but the way the team basically collapsed was shocking..someone said that Capello basically did a Rafa with tactics and formations, and he's right.

Inept from England, more so than usual. Up there with Euro ’92 in terms of the worst tourno campaigns I’ve seen.

It’s difficult to fathom why players who look good week in week out in the Prem look out of their depth in Internationals. England looked ponderously slow, devoid of attacking ideas, unable to string passes together, weak in the tackle and generally disinterested for most of their games. Maybe those players just aren’t as good as we (& more to the point they) think they are.

Capello’s tactics were a disaster from the off. No shape, no service, no width, no teamwork. Appalling really. It was like watching the LFC of last season; that’s how bad it was.

Defensively we were poor, our midfield was absolutely woeful and up front, bursts from Defoe and cameos from J Cole aside, we were clueless.

I don’t know where England go from here, is there any point sacking Capello? You would think that we should start building for the next WC and that the older players like Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand, Terry, Heskey, Barry, James, Carragher, King etc. should all get sacked off. Only point is who the hell’s going to step in? England were so much slower and less mobile than the Germans it was untrue. And that lot will all be mid 30s come the next WC.

I think I read that England had the oldest squad at this WC. Back to the drawing board in that case.

It's true. England needs to put this current crop out to pasture they had their golden opportunity in 06 and here in SA and failed miserably. Time for the next group of players to step up. Ashley Young, Shawcross, etc.

I was actually quite keen to have Barry at LFC but after a year in Citeh and now his display at the WC, I am glad he is not here.

'Ashley Young, Shawcross, etc' says it all. Our cupboard of young talent is basically empty.

England are fucked.
He did, but worse.

The fact we were getting raped on the break seemed to just go over his head, we needed to leave one of Terry and Upson back when there was a throw in or setpiece in their half, instead we left one player back every time, we played too high a line without there actually being a line (because it was all over the place), so we couldn't utilise an offside trap. It was ridiculous, and like with Rafa, very basic and naive.

england managers are fucking stupid as far as I can see. they attempt to fit in as many stars as they possibly can rather then just picking a balanced team, playing simple tactics and taking it from there

rooney - played up front on his own last season
gerrard - played behind the main striker last season
barry - was he a dedicated holding midfielder last season? if not, should't we have gone with someone who was?
adam johnson - argubly the best wide player last season, not even on the plane
defoe - will get you goals but will be a spectator for the majority of the match, does the england team have enough quality to carry a passenger
heskey - primary role is to hold up the (long) ball and batter a path to goal - is that the tactic you want to utilise?

I could go on. people go on about 'grass roots' and 'lack of technigue' I just want an england manager to pick a balanced side with everyone in the team performing the role they undertake week in week out for their club.

a) stop fucking trying to reinvent the wheel
b) stop fucking trying to shoehorn in all the 'stars'

its fucking IDIOCY and until the england manager learns they will continue to get nowhere

england 1966 - jimmy greaves, hottest striker in the country left out because he unbalanced the side

spain 2010 - xabi, inesta, cesc, xavi - all world class but I don't see all of them on the pitch at the same time.

the premiership's most successful sides are based on a high tempo, getting the ball down the wing as often and quickly as possible and crossing into the box or dragging the ball back into a crowded area, yet every single fucking championship that rolls around the manager attempts to reinvent the wheel.

Capello is shit anyway, I've never really liked him much, other than his welcome for Houllier when he returned after his health problems. I know his record is immense domestically, I just don't like his approach, and he seems another overly cautious manager. He was supposed to be this big disciplinarian who would make the ruthless decisions. Well our tournament was fucked by a disruptive John Terry and a lack of balls when it came to the big decisions, like the Gerrard v Lampard issue.

he's a fucking idiot. after watching the last group game for england and germany any could see

* germany placed tight interchanges in around the opposition penalty area
* england lacked width on the left hand side
* defoe despite the goal was a passenger
* rooney lacked service
* gerrard was drifting in and out of the game because he was asked to play a roll on the left
* germany hit ghana hard and fast on the counter attack

after watching that I cam to the conclusion

a) play gerrard behind rooney
b) play cole on the left
c) have gerrard drop deeper when we didn't have the ball to flood the midfield and stop the quick interchanges

what did crapello actually do? fuck all different from the last game.
* england were caught TWICE on the counter attack
* germany were cutting us open for fun with quck interchanges in and around our penalty box
* gerrard was ineffective apart from when he move inside to cross for upson
* rooney recieved fuck all service

as far as I'm concerned crapello is fucking clueless and if he had any dignity he hand in his resignation TODAY

Why was terry up field for the 4th goal anyway?
Either he was trying to "lead from the front" (he was born for it, after all) or he just couldn't give a flying one any more.

I would point the finger at JT and Gareth Barry for all four fucking goals.....they had a mare. If ever there was a performance that cried out for a "0" rating....

Nor Upson. He was decidedly shite, goal apart
The expression on his face for the first goal is class.

"Oh fuck"
