Was going to post something similar a few days back Sunny - you are spot on.

For what is normally a pretty funny site, there has been a distinct lack of banter, and only the vitriol and bad natured sniping has remained. Whilst I couldnt really give a fuck, it has definitely had an impact on site usage, which seems strange considering the push a few months back for better behaviour and not putting off new joiners..... unless the new approach is "Sixcrazyminutes.com The site for Irish Liverpool supporters"
What the fuck are you on about ?

I didnt see any Irish lads gloating on here after the game.
Youre right Niall, I apologise - all of the posts have been entirely good natured, and are in no way bitter sniping - up to and including site administrators stating how incredibly pleased they are that England are out and that the tournament can now begin in earnest.

Admittedly when the French knocked the Irish out there were a couple of the normal wankers stirring the pot, but by and large the other posts were either i) funny ii) supportive (with a heavy emphasis on the latter).

Per the original post by Sunny - it does smack of a small "club" bitter at the advance and relative success of a bigger one

Thats one out of how many Irish posters on this site. The English match threads have been good natured and there has been no unneccessary baiting that I have noticed only lads having a bit of a laugh myself included.

So on this occassion I dont think the acussations of bitterness are particularly well founded.

England were so fucking wank that I can't even be fucked off about the slagging from the Paddys.
I also think it's been mostly good natured. It winds me up more from the English like Sheik and Saintgeorge if I'm honest.

It was just Jexy being a dick.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has issued an apology to the FA for the incident in England's World Cup clash with Germany on Sunday which saw an obvious goal disallowed.

Frank Lampard's strike, which crashed off the underside of the crossbar and bounced at least a yard over the German goal line, would have tied the game up at 2-2 just ahead of half-time.

The fact that it was not given has led to increased calls for the use of video technology, and Blatter hinted on Monday that a press conference might reveal a change in FIFA's uncompromising stance on the issue.

He has also apologised for the decision which saw Mexico concede an obviously offside goal to Argentina on Sunday.

"FIFA will naturally take on board the discussion on technology and will have the first opportunity to discuss this in July at the business meeting of the International Board," Blatter revealed today.

"It is obvious that after the experience so far in this World Cup it would be a nonsense to not reopen the file of technology at the business meeting of the International FA Board in July.

"Personally I deplore it when you see evident referee mistakes but it's not the end of a competition or the end of football, this can happen.

"The only thing I can do is yesterday I have spoken to the two federations [England and Mexico] directly concerned by referees mistakes. I have expressed to them apologies and I understand they are not happy and that people are criticising.

"We will naturally take on board the discussion on technology and have first opportunity in July at the business meeting."

He also confirmed that FIFA are set to "reopen the file" on video technology at a meeting of its rule-making panel in Wales next month.

Blatter maintained that now it would be "a nonsense" to now not consider changes to how technology was used in football to help referees.

Aye, I mentioned several times that I wanted England to do well and it wouldn't have bothered me in the slightest if England would have won it - I'd have been happy for my English mates and would have joined in the piss up.

The Irish having a laugh at English footballing failure doesn't bother me in the slightest. We still owe them for Cromwell and Bloody Sunday, let's be honest.

I never really understand the general attitude of the Irish lads on here towards England, what baffles me more is their attitude towards their own players. Vitriol seems to be aimed at both, which begs the question, why were they even arsed about not qualifying?

😛

To be fair though, I don't think there's been much 'bitterness' as such, just the usual smugness towards England's hopes and eventual failings. Pointless really, though at least it cushions their own frustrations.

You've obviously never been to Germany.

Their fit:minging ratio exceeds England by quite a way. In fact I'd go so far as to say every 4th German woman is *stunning*, 2 of the others are nice, and 1 is nicht so gut.

In England there's about 1 nice girl in 10, 1 stunning in 25 and most of the rest are either chav as fuck or absolute munters

I'm surprised how low-key it was on here when England got knocked out. I thought it would have been carnage. The main one posting about his happiness was Rafa4PM, I didn't see one Irish poster have a pop at England getting knocked out. I don't know what the fuss is all about.

The Irish have every right to be bitter. Generations fought for freedom convinced that the only thing oppressing them and holding them back from their destiny was the English.

And then when they got their independence they might an almighty balls of it.

I think the general response has been fairly typical.

Bog-trotters overly concerned by the progress of England.

English fans somewhat bemused by how much bog-trotters care, but - on this site anyway - not really that arsed about England's abject failure anyway.

Someone mentioned a parallel with Liverpool and the perennially bitter Everton.
Unfair.
It's more like Liverpool fans reading about how much Tranmere hate them.
