bollox ...i have some german mates who have played football to a professional level , couched and scouted to a professional level so obviously know their shit . they are wondering why we bought Can . let's hope they are wrong for the first time.

Merson, Roy Keane, Claridge, Steve MacLaren, Nigel Worthington, Carlton Palmer etc, etc, etc,have all played or managed to a high level and have proved useless at identifying talent. I've also watched some games a few years ago with Newcastle's scout in the north west and he hadn't a clue. I'm not gonna get too excited about this guy but I'm also not gonna worry about a few negative reviews.
 
Prediction based on the annual summer loop :-

The club will schedule a press conference next week some time
Some members of this (& other sites) will go into meltdown speculating the PC will be unveiling Sanchez/Neymar/Messi/Zidane/Pele
The PC will happen and Lallana, Lambert & Can will be introduced
The ensuing anticlimax will trigger a deluge of "no ambition" and "we're falling behind City/Utd/Arse/Bitters" type posts

Yes, and then the annual comparison's to the professionalism of Spurs, and how we're amateur's because a player will go to Chelsea for mega bucks instead. Usual hysterical fretting right up until the transfer window closes in 9 weeks.

Hahaha, talk about selective memory. I can't remember one person saying that, in fact most of us were pissed we chose Downing over Mata.

It is a shame mods can't use the ignore button. The workaround to ignore mods would probably work but it would mean you are neglecting your duty.
