From WhoScored

Reading the Can and Lallana interviews back to back, it's funny, whenever a new player signs, one of the main questions they always get asked is who they are looking forward to playing alongside. It's been deliberately swerved in both interviews, I guess to avoid any conflict over Suarez.

It's nearly always Gerrard they name though and not Suarez !

I say we hire Didi for a few months just so he can teach Emre how to do his trademark drawing a foul and winning a free kick from nothing.

And Hyypia his 'towering header' and Carra his 'defensive organisation', since they're all in England the skills are eminently teachable to Can.

Fuckin serious amount of wet look gel in Emre's hair. He looks like he rubbed chip fat through it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that based on absolutely nothing, he's going to be a fucking star and one of my favourite players by the end of the season.

Get that feeling he'll be a roaring success myself.

Where did you see that?
Official offal.

Refugee you cynical bastard, totally different type of player. You'd maybe expect that from an attacking midfielder of forward, not a so called defensive midfielder who actually has the technical ability to pull it off. The lad actually has ability and its great that like Markovic, he chose us over the opposition. We need hungry young players who have it all to do and prove. Emre already showing that he Can!

Sami Hyypia rates him highly and has gone public with the view that he'll be a success for us.

[article]Hyypia said: "Emre is one of those players that always gives 100 per cent on the pitch. He is a very dynamic player and he is quite mature physically as well.
"He is quite a technical player and he does the simple things perfectly, with 100 per cent concentration, and I think he will have a great career at Liverpool.
"With the work ethic he has, I know the Liverpool fans will love him. He needs to make this next step forward in his career and Liverpool is a great club for him to continue to improve.
"He's also very skilful and he can play it very simple. I think he suits the Liverpool style of play and physically he can compete in the Premier League for sure.Type your article here[/article]

Of course Hyypia is going to be encouraging; but that doesn't sound like a glowing endorsement to me.
It's like one of those report cards in school. "Nice lad. keep working." He could be describing Conor Coady or Jay Spearing

We'll have to agree to differ about that. Right from Shanks' time LFC has had a guiding philosophy of doing the simple things well, plus Can's only 20 and you could also have highlighted "very dynamic", "quite a technical player", "also very skilful" and "physically he can compete".
