The fact that we are calmly accepting the sale of Suarez ... i know its just business reality but... fucking hell... we are twice the team with him in it...

It doesnt really matter who we buy and for whatever cash he is irreplaceable.

look at Spurs past season, 100M worth of talent brought in but totally lost without Bale.

Whomever we buy they better be shit hot, i for 9ne really fucking enjoyed challenging last season.

There's no sense in not taking it in our stride. It's just a question of time now, and the crucial thing is to move on past it as well and as quickly as we can. Besides, we've got previous for letting quality players go but using the fee to improve overall, and numerous top sides in Europe do it regularly.

I bet his parents were big fans of the U.S.

I've got a good feeling about Emre Can.

He's got the proper physique of a CM/DM. He looks a bit like Michael Ballack. He's trained under Schweinsteiger and Robben. He's got CL experience at 20 and he's got the balls to move country despite just making an impression in Germany. I know little of his footballing ability, but he's not going to shy away on the pitch, and at this age, that's half the battle.

Me too. That vid on the last page was impressive - fancy footwork for a defensive midfielder.

He looks like he's got that air of confidence inherent in future stars.

There's something in that video that reminds you of Fernando Redondo. Similar physical profile and hairstyle too.

Modo's right about the accurate pronunciation, but I bags Charlie 'coz I'll bet lots of people will call him "Chan".

Sami reckons he is boss

Hyypia: Why Kopites will love Emre Can

Brendan Rodgers' latest summer signing, Emre Can, has received a glowing seal of approval after his move to Merseyside by the Liverpool legend that managed him last season.

Former Reds captain Sami Hyypia was the German youngster's coach at Bayer Leverkusen during a breakthrough 2013-14 campaign and therefore knows from experience the talent he possesses.
Following the confirmation of Can's transfer on Thursday, the popular Finn kindly spared a moment for an exclusive chat with Liverpoolfc.com, in which he backed the midfielder to thrive at Anfield.
Hyypia said: "Emre is one of those players that always gives 100 per cent on the pitch. He is a very dynamic player and he is quite mature physically as well.
"He is quite a technical player and he does the simple things perfectly, with 100 per cent concentration, and I think he will have a great career at Liverpool.
"With the work ethic he has, I know the Liverpool fans will love him. He needs to make this next step forward in his career and Liverpool is a great club for him to continue to improve.
"He's also very skilful and he can play it very simple. I think he suits the Liverpool style of play and physically he can compete in the Premier League for sure.
"I was very happy for him to see him sign for Liverpool and I'm looking forward to watching him in the Premier League."

Yeah, saw that earlier. If the big man rates him that'll do for starters. With any luck Sami'll be coaching him at LFC one day.

If he can't get a sniff of the action in the first half of the season, we can pack him off to Brighton for a half season to learn under Hyypia.

Everyone was banging on about him a few years ago, as the next big thing. Hopefully this is a Coutinho style signing - young player struggles to break through at a big club and loses his way.

One thing that Sami points out there, and a criticism of him, is that he lacks concentration, it's certainly what he seems to suggest anyway.

It's closer to Johnson than Coutinho, as in he was playing, and playing well at a small club after not being able to get into the first team at the bigger club.

Well I did mention his concentration levels, so Johnson is an apt comparison.

Sami says that he gives 100% concentration.

Mind you that is generally not enough in football terminology.
