Drop Carra?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Look Rafas not going to drop Carra so thats all that should matter...the same way Ferguson woudnt drop Ferdinand if he's had a bad run or Terrys not getting dropped at Chelsea. Deal with it! 😱

First of all, Rafael need to drop Skrtel once Agger is fit enough to play. Then when Agger's 100% fit drop Carra to let the Greek statue play alongside Agger. Simple as.

the greek is shit.
skrtel hasnt been as bad as carragher so why should he be the one to get dropped? just because he isnt english?
Carragher has been good the last few seasons.. but he has slowly been getting shit. so drop him and bring in agger and skrtel and the defence problem is fixed =]

As simple as you say but it doesn't work that way because Skrtel's been average and he's good against donkey teams but against Top 4, a headless chicken more like. We need one CB in January and Rafael knows that.

That's why i said Greek statue. He's static in defence but offers a threat in corners etc. That's what we need to improve on, we are letting in goals easily from set-pieces. Greek can clear that. You can argue till your face turn blue but i'm right. Live with it.

On a side note, how many times was Hyppia written off?
[/quote]

It was a bit different though. He didn't even play badly but people were "seeing signs that he'll soon be past it". He would still be our best CB now and I'm not saying this just because I'm finnish.

Has the burden of being Glock been passed down to someone else now?

The new Glock doesn't sound like the old Glock.

We should be grateful that Hyypia are no longer with us. He's a legend but he would not change anything in those 3 games we lost.

Yesterday I thought Carra was outstanding until the 91st minute,Solid in everything he done.I will give you my own poll who is better than who.

Carra v Skertel = Carra, Hands down

Carra v Agger = Carra by a fuckin mile.

Carra v The greek = Do I have to answer this?

Get a grip lads as the getting on Carras back is getting fuckin boring now,We are a more attacking team now (Benitezs words not mine) So the defence is going to get Scrutinised more than ever and for me Carras perfomance may not be 100%,I would say 98% and still by miles our best defender so get the fuck off his back.

Mark MC you have to be the biggest idiot in this world!

Skrtel is a much better defender and player than carragher HANDS DOWN
Agger is also a much better defender and player than carragher HANDS DOWN

As for the greek well he should be sitting next to carragher on the bench =] thats where they both deserve to be.

Carragher has no speed
Carragher has no passing ability
Carragher has no scoring ability (besides from scoring own goals)
Carraghers defending is also questionable (drogba drilled him with ease the other day and so did JOVETIC.. a 19year old) thats saying something..

i could keep going about what is wrong with carragher.

The only reason carragher is seen as being good is because he is english and has come through the ranks at our club. Otherwise if he was just another player that we had bought and was 32 years old and playing like ass the way he is atm and has been lately most of use would be on his back. Time to pull the finger out of your ass and realise that he is past his best and should make way for a new partnership.

This is the worst post in SCM's history.
That is some acheivement Zlatan18, you are competeing some complete and utter ballbags and you have trounced them.

CARRA: I'LL GET BACK TO MY BEST FORM
Paul Hassall 08 October 2009
Jamie Carragher has vowed to return to his defensive best after enduring a difficult start to the 2009-10 campaign.
The Reds vice-captain admits he has struggled to hit peak form so far this season but insists it won't be long before both he, and the Liverpool rearguard, are back amongst the shut-outs.

"We aren't playing well as a back four and I'm not playing well personally," Carragher told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I need to hit better form and hopefully that will come in the next few games.

"Over the last five or six years we have been renowned as a team who have kept a lot of clean sheets and for keeping it tight. I think that's why we get a bit more criticism because people don't expect it of Liverpool - and rightly so.

"We take the plaudits when things are going well so you have to take the criticism when it's not going well.

"I know I need to improve myself and we also need to improve as a team."

Rafael Benitez's men head into the international break knowing that no side has won the title after losing three of their first eight league games since Manchester United in 1967.

Carragher accepts Liverpool's start has made the quest for title number 19 more difficult, but points to another statistic as reason for optimism.
"You can shape statistics to make them look however you want them to," he said. "We've now got the same points as Manchester United had at this point last season. That's another statistic you could look at because they went on to win the league with 90-odd points.

"Whatever statistic you throw at us, we know we haven't made a good start. We don't need to look at them because we know ourselves that we haven't performed as well as we would have liked in certain games. We now have to put that right.

"Points are what matter and how many you end up with at the end of the season. We've lost six games in our previous two Premier League seasons.

"To lose that many in 76 games - that's some achievement and yet we still haven't won the league. Man United have lost more than us and won the league for the past two years.

"So as far as we are concerned it's now all about getting points on the board."

I don't know. If i were to read Mark MC's and zlatan's post without any bias, i would think Zlatan's is better.

Mark Mc just stated his opinion as facts and constructed an argument based on those premise.

I paraphrase "Carra is better than skirtl, carra is better than agger, so he clearly can't be dropped".

There is hardly any coherent logic in that post.

But i happen to agree more with Mark MC, than zlatan....but thats another story..

I was wondering that myself...

Jamie Carragher's mistakes this season:

Tottenham (lost 2-1): Headed into his own net for Spurs' equaliser.

Aston Villa (lost 3-1): Curtis Davies beat him to head home Villa's second goal at Anfield.

West Ham (won 3-2): Outpaced by Zavon Hines before fouling him for a penalty.

Chelsea (lost 2-0): Didier Drogba muscled past him to set up Florent Malouda for Chelsea's second.

Praying for Aggers injury problems to end!

Carra is only 31, Im sure this just a dip in form, not the end of him.

I feel people calling for the end of Carra will have as much egg on their face as those who said Sami was finished at 31.

I am not sure if anyone is saying he is finished as such, but at 31 he ain't any spring chicken anymore and after so many years battling in the premiership he won't have too many seasons left in him.
It's no use comparing players ages against each other, they are all physiologically different. Carra's legs have troubled him at the end of the last three or four seasons.
I think what people are saying is no one is immune from being dropped, and if someone else can come in and do a better job, and the team as a whole is better for it, that is what you have to do.
Carra more than anyone would have benefited from some rest over the last few years.
Jamie is a big lad, he has said he knows and accepts, he has not been at his best, and I am sure want what is best for the team.

regards
