Drained?

I should be that man too JJ old chum, but I am finding it very stressful. Perhaps in the old days we were a lot less flakey at the back, didn't have a keeper that is a complete woos in the air, and some lump of a Brazilian running round trying to give as many soft free kicks away in our half as he can in the last 20 minutes.

Lovely to have you around again Vlad. I'm going to need a pacemaker before the end.

It all seems so familiar, even though it's been a while, like returning home, a very dysfunctional home, which is nice - I think 😉 Drained is such a great word for it.
Brendan told us all to sit back and enjoy the run in a couple of weeks ago. That is easier said than done.
I keep trying to be sensible and reaffirm even if it all turned to shit now, we have far exceeded our expectations, but it still does not help. We just need to endure and enjoy the torture.

I cant get any work done. Reading newsstories, checking the fixture list and looking at the table for the upteenth time.
We've achieved our goals this season and securing CL is fantastic.

But, I'll be really gutted if we ended up 2nd now. Its so fucking close I can picture the celebrations at Anfield already.
Drained indeed. I'm a mess!

Watching LFC tv and seeing us twat Chelsea in the past had me feeling comfortable. And then I remembered Maureen is in charge. We've beaten his sides before, but they've always been hard fought victories. Sunday will be no different. Pop some valium, and hope it turns out well.

Poor the Gary - drained by LFC & full of sorrow for Moyes.

It would feel even worse if Everton got a result against Man City on Saturday.

Edit: Ah fuck, its next Saturday.

Here's my pre match routine, I find it helps.

1. Meditate
A few minutes of practice per match can help ease anxiety. Sit up straight with both feet on the floor. Close your eyes. Focus your attention on reciting -- out loud or silently -- a positive mantra such as “We will win the league".

2. Breathing

Breathe deeply. Take 5 minutes and focus on only one thought (I tend to picture Steven Gerrard lifting up the Premier league trophy).

3. Decompress
Place a warm LFC heat wrap around your neck and shoulders 10 minutes before kick off.

4. Liquid Consumption
Forget that you have work tomorrow and neck as many pints as you feel you need to to get through the next 90 minutes.

Sure it is B4PM.... sure it is.

Mention of chicken drumsticks might get Ross involved as well.

I spend 99% of the week shitting myself, then during the game it gets 10 times worse but after the game there's a golden few hours in which i can reflect on just how good a team we've become and how great we are to watch. After a period of about 2 hours I go back to shitting myself.

My wife is putting up with me giving her daily updates on the forthcoming games, daily countdowns to the games etc and is even feigning interest........I think she actually knows how important this is to me.

The worst thing is that when the games actually start and we score first, I just want the game to end.
That wasnt easy against both City and Norwich when we scored after 5 and 2 mind.....

When we scored against Norwich I shouted 'just blow up now ref' at the same time as two or three others shouted pretty much the same thing. That after I got up off the floor, having jumped on my mate & sent us tumbling to the ground laughing our tits off.

Incidentally I hit the deck four times that game. Each time we scored, & at the final whistle.

The City game was like I was living in a dream for me, all of the emotion beforehand obviously had an effect and then watching us start like we have done and the euphoria of that was like a crazy emotional rollercoaster.... to then give them a way back into the game it made me feel ill 2nd half....

and then the Coutinho finish, the boy who I have on the back of my shirt, the boy who has the potential to be one of the very very best in the world steps up puts us into dreamland for one moment....

I couldnt really comprehend what had happened for a few hours, i wasnt even happy at first... it was just a shocked feeling....

The Norwich game I was just shitting it, you could see the boys were a little more nervy.

I guess we are in for the same again this weekend.
