Looking at Crystal Palace's fixtures list, it's just struck me that, since Allardyce took over, they're 3-for-3 against the top 6 clubs:
win 2-1 away vs Chelsea
win 3-0 home vs Arsenal
win 2-1 away vs Liverpool
Predictably, I guess, sandwiched between a couple of these games are a defeat to Southampton (3-1) and draw against Leicester.
Guess Fat Sam puts some extra juice in when he gets the chance to play these big games. Not a bad thing if he can keep that streak up:
Apr 26 - home vs Spurs
May 6 - away vs City
May 21 - away vs Man Utd
Weve dropped points to 8 of the bottom 10
I beg to differ Leo.
Im unconvinced.
Its not up front we lack.
I think its an abdication of responsibilty to have not sorted out our defending.
We arent hard to beat. Thats a damning indictment of 18 months in the job.
Surely thats step one?
He spent 30m on Wijnaldum and only 11m combined on the back 4 and keeper.
The bit we need sorting right?
It really is a big big summer.
There's an alarming lack of players in the side who dislike losing. I actually can't think of any. Perhaps Can, who occasionally shows some passion.Even if we had a reasonably fit squad, I am not sure if we would have finished the job. At the business end of any competition, whenever we are put under the slightest level of discomfort on the pitch, we wave the white flag and retreat. This issue goes back to Rodgers team also.
I think Silver Sean had a brilliant post 6-7 months ago about the true personality of this team being the second half of the Europa league final.
For me expectations were far too high when he arrived and they're starting to hit realistic levels.
He's career has been impressive, no doubt. But if you look at his best success - Dortmund, they are an extremely well run club who haven't had any dramatic fall post Klopp and now they're manager is getting some hype. They have excellent scouts, a large stadium, a Director of Football who knows his shit and clearly a good backroom setup. Klopp was a cog in a highly effective machine. An important cog, but a cog nonetheless. There are times in which the setup can flatter a manager. It's similar to Southampton managers and previously Swansea managers before them. The notion a club lives or dies by the manager shouldn't be so engrained into our mindset and into English football.
At Liverpool we had nothing like the setup of Dortmund. We were still shipping out that cunt Rodgers appointed from Division 6. I hate to say it, but it's a new 'project' and it obviously deserves time.
Dortmund were lurking around midtable before he arrived and pretty much spent good money on average players. He and the sport director turned it around, without immidiate success, and they now they are constantly in the CL quarters. So it is possible but it need patience and a long term strategy. I guess biggest difference is the mentality of the surroundings. The pressure for instant success and the reaction on losses are different here.
Honestly I think the defence looks better under Klopp than Rodgers, but it was a pathetically low bar, and it still needs much improvement. The defence under Rodgers had us in sixth place, under Klopp we were in the top four, and arguably would be challenging for the title still if not for missing some key attackers in January. It's clearly the weakest part of the team and needs improving, but let's not get hyperbolic here, it's not Rodgers level, even during our title run season our defence was beyond hilarious.
Does he have the sporting director here? Maybe we should focus on hiring the next Zorc before even contemplating criticizing Klopp irrespective of how poorly he does.
Remember this from Rodgers.
It obviously didn't happen either.
What a vile self obsessed tranny fucker dog nonce he is.
Hahahaha.Grow up, you pointless cunt.
Hahahaha.
Mark and his Rodgers bat signal.
Go sniff his crusty boxers.
Cheers.You're a vile prick.
Didn't really do your homework here. Much of a muchness and just as "hilarious":
2016/2017 - GA 42 (four games left)
2015/2016 - GA 50
2014/2015 - GA 48
2013/2014 - GA 50
I didn't really need to as my post was anecdotal, but those statistics kind of back up my thoughts anyway, unless of course you expect us to concede >6 goals in the last four games? You can discount 2015/16 too as that was half Rodgers half Klopp.
Yeah but we're not getting dicked 6-1 by Stoke anymore.
The dog days under Klopp are definitely not as bad.

What's your point here?Yeah...losing 3nil at Watford, blowing 2 goal leads at home to Sunderland and Newcastle then the next season blowing a 2 goal lead TWICE at Bournemouth, losing to shite like Hull and Leicester away also and losing to more shite at home like Swansea and Palace is soooo much better. Excuse me whilst I pinch myself here.
