The top four is still ours if we sort our shit out. We have to win our next four games, the only way United stop us from getting top four if we do that is by dropping no more than three points from games against City, Arsenal and Tottenham, it's a massive ask.

We had a wonderful opportunity to make the Top 4 place ours to lose, with our rivals all playing in the FA cup we got knocked out of by Wolves.

So, obviously, we lost. But what did we learn today? What crucial lessons can we bring into the new season?

Well, nothing really, as we all know what the problems are anyway: we have the worst, slowest DM in the league; we actually have NO strikers of note; our defence is a shit-caked actrocity; our squad is too thin; Klopp is fucking hopeless at game management; our midfield isn't good enough; we have no pace; Mane is our best player by far and we have no replacement.

Mignolet (5) A mute, inert presence and left helpless for both goals. Fortunate that it wasn't worse, such was the chaos at times.

Clyne (6) Some good attacking runs, let down by mediocre crossing and lack of options ahead of him. There was no movement or runs for him to use or aim at.
Lovren (3) A laughable, Keystone Kops display of such ineffable uselessness that adjectives are almost irrelevant. He was sloppy with the ball, dived brainlessly into tackles - missing most of them - and cost us two goals.
Matip (5) When the ball is in the air, he challenges for it with all the determination, accuracy and skill of a mong in a straitjacket who's just been fired from a cannon.
Milner (6) One or two great interceptions, but had so little support on the left he often ended up having to pass to Lucas. it was that bad.

Lucas (3) A club-footed atrocity exhibition in the first half, he improved after the break in the same way that an aborted afterbirth is "improved" when it's chucked in the incinerator and the surfaces are wiped down.
Wijnaldum (4) He's good at linking play when we are well in control, but when we need him to actually take some responsibility and make things happen on his own, he disappears into the shadows and hides until everyone else has gone home
Can (5) Has been in much better form in recent weeks, so this was hardly the time to slip back into leaden mediocrity.

Coutinho (7) A superlative free-kick and a lively, creative mercurial presence until the last 30 minutes, when even his talent thought "oh, fuck this". Was quite literally the only person who looked like scoring
Firmino (4) Pissed away possession time and time again with poor passing and stupid flicks to nobody, and never looked like scoring, or doing anything that might involve scoring.
Origi (3) Why don't we talk more about Origi? Hahahahahahahahaha! This cunt wouldn't get a game at most other sides in the Premiership. Has zero striking instinct and is, frankly, a complete waste of everyone's time. Just fuck off, Divot, there's a good lad.

That's a bit unfair on Mignolet and Firmino was our second brightest of a sad bunch. Otherwise not much to argue with there.

Despicable performance all around.

Oh, and sorry guys, we were pretty good today, last twenty minutes asides. If it wasn't from two moments of absolute horror defending, mainly by Lovren, we'd have deservedly won. We didn't create many chances, you don't in games against teams like this, we got our goal, and we looked comfortable, but yet again, we fucked it up by being clowns in defence.

Apart from the freekick, we didn't have a single shot on target. That's disgraceful. The 'squad' is laughably thin, and that's on Klopp if the club were willing to pay

I don't think Palace even played that well, that's the most disappointing thing today.

They were OK, ceded a lot of possession because they could tell we'd do fuck all with it, and used the pace out wide and the threat of Benteke to create chances.

And every team knows we are useless in defence and weak on set pieces and crosses, so it doesn't even need the genius of Sam Allardyce to take advantage.

I was impressed with Palace's DM with the unpronounceable surname, Millolololvejicovic or something. He worked very hard and shut down our attacking players. Looks a decent player.

3 Transfer windows
Zero Centre Forwards
Zero Defensive Midfielders
No Left Back
A worse CB pairing than we had previously.

Poor substitutions.
No ability to change things in game.
Continually losing to poor teams.
Continually moaning about long ball (ITS YOUR JOB TO FUCKING COUNTER IT NOT MOAN)

I dont think hes terrible. I just dont think hes very good.
The teams we have dropped points to this season is a joke.

If he wasnt funny and kooky and charismatic hed be well under fire.
Serial loser in the cups, poor performances again and again.
And the complete inabilty to put a consistent run together. Have we won 3 in a row this year? At all?

Im not saying get rid. But hes got a LOT to fucking prove. Because right now Rodgers side was better and more competetive than this turgid wank.

We won't get maximum points in the last 4 games.

Silly Oncey, how many times does it have to explained to you that under Klopp's amazing system, we don't need a DM, or a striker, and that our defence just *looks* bad because of the way we play?

Amazingly, some cunts have said all of the above on many occasions this season.

Erm, weren't we top for a bit?

I get some of the sentiment but that's a bit over the top.

We need to pull our fingers out in the summer and add some serious quality to this squad. I trust Klopp more than I have any Liverpool manager in recent years to do that, and I trust him more than any other manager for years to get the best out of those signings. He is a good manager.

I disagree.
Bombastic chest beating will get you so far.

Coaching and training and signing good players will get you further.

He gets this summer to fix this shitfest.

I think everyone, Klopp included, knows this summer is vital.

If he fucks it up and next season is a washout, he will be under severe pressure.

Shit teams must fucking rub their hands together when they come to play us. Is not even hard for them.
We have become softer than fucking arsenal.

I miss Agger and Skrtel and Gerrard and Kuyt players with fucking balls.

But Can has got such lovely hair. Oh and the Brazilian pair have gorgeous teeth.

You forget Rodgers last season was woeful. Bordering on budgie territory...

Thats not a high water mark is it?
Im not advocating Rodgers.

If Klopps modus is 'be better than Rodgers' then yeah hes doing *OK*

So Rodgers team wasn't better or more competitive? What are you trying to say here because in two post you've lost your point.

The season is longer than 4 months pal.

Of course it does but this is Klopp's first full season and it's not over yet.

Our great start to the season and our ability to constantly beat the better teams has raised expectations but Arsenal, Spurs, Man United, Man City and Chelsea all have better squads than ours.

It's an unpopular viewpoint but I think it needs to be said.

We've got systemic issues that look no closer to solving than when he arrived. I like Klopp and on the whole I like the sort of football he tries to play but things surely can't continue in this vein.

If we finish in the top four then this season will go down as a success because I don't think many of us truly expected to achieve that given the level of competition. I thought we'd finish 5th / 6th at the start.

It is early days for Klopp and he deserves time but I think it's also fair to call out the fact that thus far we seem to be seeing the same issues week in, week out and there don't seem to be any solutions available outside of the transfer market. That's a little disappointing.

Maybe he needs Zorc
